Getting Past the Holidays(ugh!)
It seems everything we try to do around October to November each year is met with the following statement, "Let's get through the holidays first". It makes me cringe, especially when I am trying to make a sale or schedule any non-mandatory activity. It seems to be the easiest response, not having to make a decision, or procrastinating on that decision.
The thing is, we need to do these things more than every during the holiday season. We need to hire someone, sell someone something, join a new class, get our teeth cleaned, whatever! Commissioned sales people need their money even more for the holidays!
Also, we know we will have a few extra hours or days during the season in which we could make the time for extra-curricular activities. But, "NO", first we have to "get through the holidays"!
Friends, expenses go on, whether it is December, June, or March! We still have to eat, pay our mortgage, our insurance, buy gas, etc!
This year I am using my "free" time to create a platform for wealth. I'm very happy to know that as of today, January 4th, the end of the weekend following New Year's Day, we are officially Past the Holidays!

LOL I'm with you. I used the holidays to rebuild my primary website; though I am a couple days behind, thanks to a bit of merry making.
I don't know! I know a lot of financial advisors who have huge December's. I guess it's all what we make of it! Have a great 2015!
Yes, I can see that, but it is slightly different because they are facing the end of year deadline for taxes. I appreciate your comment!
Actually not really. End of year for taxes is April 14th for Ira contributions. What I was referring to was advisors who work to get things through even though it's the holidays.
I understand what you are saying about the Holidays but when you get to be my age, you will realize that family and friends need to be of the highest priority when it comes to spending your time left on this place call Earth. Granted, I am retired with a comfortable income. So I can feel this way.
Stay with it and good luck with your website.
Thanks for the comment, Larry. I neglected to say that I enjoy the holidays as much as anyone, I have a 9 year old granddaughter who is the most beautiful and intelligent human being on Earth.
One day I want to be like you:)
