Wellbeing: Can I Lose Weight Singing?
Wellbeing is a term most of us are becoming aware of. We hear it in our doctor offices, we see and hear it on the television and on most all social media sites. I just think, “oh how I wish someone could exercise for me and I reap the benefits in weight loss and get a wonderful toned body.” Add music you say? Ok, I love music, but then there’s the ‘DOING’ part, NOT just the singing.
Can I lose weight/fat just by singing? Probably since we use the “Epigastrium” also called the “breathing muscle” although it is not actually a muscle. It is located where our abdominal muscle and our diaphragm connects just under the ribcage. The “epigastrium” is know as our breathing support, and the “diaphragm” is the largest and strongest muscle in our body.
So can we lose weight by singing?
I hope so. Maybe if I work the Epigastrium/Diaphragm enough and maybe break a sweat, yeah sure its possible.
Go for it, SING!

Definitely not. I know some people who sing well but are obese. I would like to ask the question, can we learn to sing by not singing? Definitely not.
I think so. Singing improves your state of mind and mood, which in turn leads to happiness and making better decisions. Better decisions should lead to making better food choices. Which should lead to weight loss.
My thoughts exactly. I know that music has made all my children and grandkids better students. Weight loss? Well anythings possible when you do what you love.
