To new beginnings

Taking the plunge...

A year ago to this very date, I sat at my computer, researching, blogging, researching some more, confused, hungry for info. Subscribing to countless blogs and sites, trying to piece together a website, surely ignoring my family for days on end. Days clipped by, possibly weeks. What I needed was more info, some encouragement. I would have questions, I would look to the internet for answers and just pray I was doing it correctly. What was I trying to achieve? Who was my audience? Why was I even attempting this?

I paid a lot of money to get that domain up and running, I thought it was going to be great and I could break free from my 9-5 grind! I could travel freely with my family around the world, working from my laptop. I have this vision of me sitting on the veranda in Greece overlooking the ocean with a Chardonnay and my laptop.

Turns out I'm a big dreamer, constantly, I get excited quickly about new ideas and how they will come to fruition! I want to try, I want to succeed but if I don't have proper backup I lose interest quickly. Don't be to quick to judge please.... I can stay focused haha I've had a career in Interior design for 20+ years, but I crave change. So within that time I've branched out to many sections within that field. Loved every bit of it! And I will always continue to push forward in that area because It's me! And quite frankly I'm pretty good at it. *pats self on back
However, back to my dying interest of the online marketing world, I lost the will to continue building my site, to move forward with it. I had no help, no one to reach to with questions or concerns Just the shady articles on Pinterest about how to get rich overnight using these simple tactics or the endless emails coming through my account with useless info only to have to buy into their bull before getting any further. Pffffft... not helpful.

HOLD UP!!!! I have a subscriber! What is this???? Yay! 1 lone subscriber. how exciting, the hope was back. Briefly. Let's just have a look here..... my husband. He was my one subscriber, what a sweetheart. I married a good one you guys!! **pats self on back again

I appreciate him so much, but it won't make bank hahaThat's it, I'm over it, I let it die. After 3 months of hard work I just let it go. I didn't have anymore energy to waste on trying to figure it out on my own.
Fast forward to a few days ago ( 1 year later from me starting a website on my own) It has always lingered in the back of my head, the online world of marketing, so many people are doing it, it's the way of the future. People are becoming very successful, everyday people. I'm an everyday person. right?! There has to be a way. I found myself scrolling articles once again hungry for information.
Wealthy affiliate? Let's have a read, probably the typical stuff I have read countless hours of, like always. But somehow it was different, something about it felt just right. Actual information? Actual trust building?
click further, hmmmm, interesting. Sign up? Why not? Lord knows how many emails I've unsubscribed from in the past. What's another?

Free training?! Huh? What have I stumbled on? Well jump in! Both feet, make it happen! Wait.... it's going to get me a little ways and then boom, back on my own. But I continue, mostly because of the community of helpful, knowledgeable people who seem to be right there if you have questions or need encouragement. I couldn't stop reading countless blogs and comments that were so encouraging within this community! Wow! Now that is how it is done! I continued on with training and had a website up in 2 days! *3rd pat on back

I didn't expect this amount of knowledge right off the bat, nor the easy walk through training. Well done WA, 4 days in and I signed up for premium. I am looking forward to this new beginning with an amazing community and knowledgeable leaders. Thank you!
