Core “Business Start Up” Training

I am in the process of starting a website. I was thinking that I wanted to build a website all about toddlers and then post about different things such as potty training, teethi

I have the same issue. I wanted to create an authority site to help educate business people/start up about how to work with designers and web developers (to avoid the "client from hell" syndrome). However, the more I worked on it, I realized I was working on four different sites combined into one. I think what I learned from that is...you can have all the various niches on the one site, but just break it up and start slowly. Find the thing you'd find most effective for your financial strategy or is most useful. eventually, as a site grows and you make more money, you can out source writers and people with similar experiences as you to help develop a larger scale site.

Chelsea love, toddlers is a huge niche. Go to ubersuggest.org. Search for toddlers and look at all the stuff. Narrowing down your niche helps your readers find you easier. You might think about branding. Still having more than three categories in the beginning can overwhelm a newbie. I have been there. It is not fun, then you are spending more time fixing things than building your site in a direction that will attract the readers who need specific information and stuff relevant to buy. Have you decided on a domain.siterubix? Just want to help. ^_~Lynn

I originally thought that I wanted my niche (and domain name) to be "how to potty train your toddler" and then I thought that maybe I would just make the website named something about toddlers in general and then work on the first post as the potty training. But I don't want to overwhelm myself like you said as well. I plan on this being my one and only website until it is perfected and making money.

Just searched for 'howtotrainyourtoddler'. The .com is taken (the .net and .org are available). You might take a look at that site to brainstorm your own unique brand, your speciality, your one site that will give your reader great information and relevant useful products. Sounds like you are now on the right tract. I'd probably see if a .siterubix will happen and go from there. The sooner you write, the next steps you can add. It is the sum of all the searchable keywords are what makes our sites successful. The final domain name purchased comes later.

Don't worrry about a domain just yet that comes a few lessons in so you will get there don't worry! It also gives you a bit of time to think about a good one!

Should your niche be broad with more specific posts or no?
