Hi there,

I was wondering is it ok to have more than one niche on a website or should is it better that I stick to website dedicated to one niche?

When I first started, I did not understand this concept. I started a great website for veterans, but then I was also promoting Wealthy Affiliate. It really confused people and some even got mad! I have since let that go to the wayside until I can revamp the whole site. I was informed that it should be two sites. One for veterans, and one for promoting Wealthy Affiliate. So, as others below have said, it is by far best to concentrate on only one niche per website. Try to be very specific with what you put on it. It must always tie in to the main topic of the website. Good Luck and Take Care.

I understand that visitors would get confused. But what if the niches synergised. For example a niche in clothing and a niche on accessories both on one website? would it be ok?

Just asking out of curiosity

Yes, I think you could get away with that! Most niches have many angles. For example, I have a green website that entails anything to do with the green movement. My husband writes articles on radon, cell phones, toilet paper, building materials, natural remedies for soap, natural remedies for bugs, etc. in the garden. You get the idea! Your niche could do say, men's clothing, shirts, shoes, slacks, suits, ties, cuff links, socks, sports jackets, watches, belts, and on and on. You could even add briefcases to that.

Actually, your niche would be whatever your domain name is. For example: www.charliesclothingformen.com. Then under this niche, you would write content and provide pictures for all of the items I listed above. I hope this clarifies things for you. Take Care and Good Luck!

Think of it from a visitors perspective. even your own experience. If you're looking for, I dunno, a new Xbox game. you come across an amazing site that gives you what you're looking for.

Would you find it odd if they also had half of a site that was dedicated to dog biscuits?

Google wants you to be an authority on the subject you're writing about.

Give Google what they want!

Make a lot of sense. But what if the niches synergised. For example a niche in clothing and a niche on accessories both on one website?

Just asking out of curiosity

sure, go ahead with that! that's fine. I have a similar thing with mine. An overarching subject and then micro niches relating to the master subject!

Two different niches on one site will confuse your viewers and you may find it harder to get ranked.

Thanks for the advice!

In Kyle's video, his dashboard is different to that of mine. The version of my word press is 4.9.8. There is an add image icon but it's below my article's block and when I clic

Maybe this will help

Hi everyone!
Thank you for all your input and effort. The problem was the Gutenberg plugin which messed up the dashboard.

Everything is ok now.

Have a great day!

Hi thanks for the update Charlie, how are you finding the Gutenberg plugin?

You will be pleased that you sorted it out.

To be honest it wasn't very user-friendly. Very confusing. I will have to make time and go through it.

You know, that was my next question... I installed gutenberg, but got the same results, so uninstalled it. I believe Gutenberg is good, if a little confusing, but glad you got it sorted ; )

I think that we are all going to have a few issues with the looks of things, thanks for sharing Charlie.

Hi Charlie
Have a look at the image, it may help.

Go to your dashboard,

Click on posts select all posts.

put your mouse under the title of the post you want.

Click edit.

Place the cursor where you want to place the image.

Click add media.

either select one from the image library or upload one from your computer.

Click insert into post.

If you are happy click up date.

There is a little more to it, but that will get you going.

Edit in word press. Some good advice below

The answer is directly below with Jim and to confirm that is right

Don't get me wrong I believe what Jim says, it's even included in Kyle's video but as you can see from my screenshot that's not the case.

Oooer, strange, it should be above the text editor box. Which theme are you using?

If you click on your posts and then click "Edit" on the post you have selected, you will find an "Add Media" button on the top left hand side. Click on this and you should be able to upload images. If not, you will need to contact site support. Jim

Good Answer Jim, well done

Thank you!! I found it, but now I have another problem. It adds the image as another block, and that block is always below my article. I can't seem to move it into the block where my article is written. Do you think this is a technical glitch?
