A tribute to tech support.
A tribute to tech support. The ones who are there to save us from our stupidty.
We should be nice to everyone on a daily basis, that's a given, but more expecially we should be extremely nice to tech support.
They have saved me twice from disaster. The first time was when I logged into wordpress to configure the layout of my website. Afterwards I thought to myself I had better spend a bit of time going through the system and famaliarizing myself with the options available.
I noticed that on my dashboard the new Gutenberg editor plugin was available. It was the beta version. At first I didn't understand but i thought to myself I should give it a try. If i didn't like it I could always remove it so I tried it. At first uit was ok, not the best and slightly confusing compared to the original.
After a while I forgot about it and as I progressed through the training vids, I noticed that Kyle's editor layout was completely different to mine and realized that I couldn't proceed. I panicked as I was wasting hours trying to figure out the cause.
Eventually I asked the community for help, they were helpful, but none solved my problem. They kept telling me the exact same thing Kyle's video showed. Finally I asked tech support and within minutes they told me problem and resolved it for me!!
Second time was last night. And I have no idea what was going through my mind as I the decison I made really stuffed me over. Long story short I accidentally moved my website between two domains and ended causing an infinite redirecting loop. How stupid is that?? HAHAHAHAHA XD XD
I was extremely stressed because I had made so much edits in my published posts that it would take me another 2-3 days to redo it all. I messaged tech support once again and they responded with an hour. Without a doubt they pulled me out from the ditch.
I am but one case. There are so many members in WA, imagine how many problems they must be handling on a daily basis. Be it small or big, stupid or interesting problem; they are our good samaritans 24/7. The go-to guys. If I were there I'd treat you to beer or to whatever takes your fancy.
So yeah, be nice and grateful to tech support, as well as this great community.
Hit a like if you agree. Hit like even if you don't because it would make me happy.
Your thoughts are welcome. Please share :D
