The Long walk
Wealthy Affiliate seems to be giving me the type of challenge that i have always looked for, the type of sweat that looks like the one that will turn out to be sweet.
When i joined Wealthy affiliate i knew that it was an uphill task, and the one if properly managed will be desirable.I have very little I.T technical background even though i love tech very much, i'm the guy who is always following tech news though with more bias towards Apple. My first few hours which later became days saw me run around the whole site, i didn't know whether to start with my lessons or read people's blogs or even follow up the live chat, it was all exciting and i loved it all. The whole experience managed to swallow up my sleep, i usually went to bed around 9pm but after joining Wealthy Affiliates i now go to bed after 12pm.
Being in Wealthy affiliate made me to be scared the very first hours, the greatest thing was to receive a welcome from the co-owners, Kyle and Carson, and giving me the reaffirmation that i was in the right place and all my success depends on my hard work and whenever i trip the people are there to help, the community. The community to me which have looked like a one big happy family, defying all the geographical borders, races and tribes.Believe me, i loved the reaffirmation, it motivated and gave me the spirit that i can do it.
The community even though i followed and got followed back didn't make much sense till i came to my first hurdle, website development.I followed all the instructions in the tutorials and bought my own name from namecheap.com, i was so exhilarated because i got the name that i was thinking of without any hustle and directed the name to Wealthy Affiliate, this was all good.I did managed to choose a theme with my new name but the the one big problem is that i couldn't log-in to the administrator to edit and make my page the way i want it to be. I posed the community with my questions and all fingers seemed to point to the support team, my domain was getting parked and getting parked at namecheap.com.
Support gave me the answers , but i couldn't understand, i questioned them several times and I letter realized that i also need to bring the namecheap.com guys to the picture, that was my answer, the guys told me that it was due to DNS propagation, the support didn't also knew that the domain was new, finally i had to forward the discussion i had with namecheap.com to support.
The community is big but we need to persist on what we want to know and get the answers to our questions. Im learning new things everyday. As i write this blog the DNS propagation is complete and i'm now working on my website, the design aspect. I hope to learn more lessons during the process.
Its a long walk and believe me i'm still and will ever be walking......
