Google analytics says my site is not getting hits and may not be tagged correctly.
Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix?

Sounds like you might have a Google Tag Manager script on your site?
Could be some missing code.
Check your site URL in this tool and scroll down the results list to see if GA is tracking your site. You should see a green check mark for each item tracked.

Did you join Google Tag Manager or activated Events tracking but not install those? If so, disabling those might remove that message.
Or, if you using Chrome, do you have the Google Tag Assistant add-on, disable that to see if it makes any difference.
The important thing is to check your traffic stats in GA to see if you are getting actual traffic.
