Aweber then GetResponse I believe are 1 and 2. Mail Chimp good for beginners. You get what you pay for with autoresponders.
On Jay's email marketing training webinars, in the first one in March 2018, he lists several. Please excuse my all caps, as that is how I took the notes when listening:

AUTORESPONDER SERVICES DO COST MONEY.
SOME HAVE FREE OPTIONS.
AWEBER — MOST POPULAR, FREE TRIAL THEN ABOUT $20 A MONTH
CONSTANT COMMENT — SMALL BUSINESS ORIENTATION
DRIP
MAILCHIMP — FREE OPTIONS
MAD MIMI ALSO HAVE FREE CHOICES
GETRESPONSE — SMALL BUS
MOST REVIEWS ARE BIASED BECAUSE WRITERS GET AFF COMMISSIONS

Someone else here on WA (I don't recall who) recommended Mailerlite, which also has a free option. I am likely to use it soon. Here is the url that person posted --
