My first two weeks!
So I have come to my end of the second course at wealthy affiliate. I signed up for the program a under two weeks ago. I wanted to share a little about my journey so far. I am going to go over why I chose this program over another that I was looking at, my experience this first two week, and end with my goals for the future.
Why I Chose Wealthy Affiliate
My whole journey to wealthy affiliate began months ago when I tried starting my own website with a friend. We quickly realized that driving traffic was a main problem of starting a website. It has been a dream of mine to start a website and make an income from this. Well needless to say this thought that there is a lot that I just do now know. Soon after launching this site I ended up having some personal problems, lost my job and had no place to live. I ended up moving back to the city where I grew up most of my life to allow my myself to get help from family, something I have never really done before. I moved in with my cousin and started looking for a job. Within a few weeks I got hired at a low paying job but it would pay the bills for now. It took me a few months to get back on my feet and I still owe money to family that helped me.
Well I still am on a mission to make money online and got an email from someone about a different affiliate program we will call CBU. Now I did research about the the differences in the programs and decided that wealthy affiliate was the better option for me as the other one was about the same price for the premium membership here but they have a lot of upsells. I made the decision to go ahead and sign up here, as a premium member.
What I have done the last two weeks.
So I began my journey on wealthy affiliate. I jumped right in with a premium membership. I went through and made my goal, but started working the program. I made a commitment to myself to finish one course a week which is what I have done. I have never felt like I have been a good writing so I thought that content writing would be difficult for me. One thing I have struggled with is coming up with ideas to write about. It was for this reason I decided to go with something I know about and not to promote Wealthy Affiliate to start. So after working through my first week and buying a doimain my site was born:
Now came what I thought would be the hard part, content writing. After figuring out how to use the keyword tool, I used this to get ideas on what to write about. I have continued to just work the program as I go. My site is starting to take shape and I should be monetizing it. Working through the process has really started to show me how this program works and really makes it real in my mind.
Goal for the Future
Now that I have worked this far into the program I will continue to work it and pay for premium as I now know that I will make money if I just stick to the course I have laid out before me. I will continue to do a course a week until I have finished the getting started work. In the next three months I want to make my first commissions as well as start a second site to promote wealthy affiliate it's self. In the next six months I want to make enough money so that I can quit my 9-5 job.
My Advise for New Members
Now for all the new members out there I want to end with a little advise. When you are first starting out you have to make a commitment to work the program. You will be surprised at how much you can accomplish in a short amount of time. One thing that has really helped me is scheduling the time to work on the site everyday. This could be one hour or more just set the time aside. Also take some time to do something for yourself, after all, are we not all working this to allow ourselves to do what we want and work for ourselves.
