Just Broke 100,000 Word Count On My Site!
Broke 100,000 Word Count On My Site!
Hello everyone, a few days ago I wrote a blog and stated that I would reach 100,000 by this next Saturday (It's Monday!).
Currently I Have 101,139 Words!
I now have 41 posts (keeping up with the 60 by Dec. 31) & I created 3 posts today!
Please visit cattravel101.com
See what 100,000+ word site looks like, not bad considering the site is only 59 days old!
3 Posts In 1 Day!
My old record was 2, but today I created 3 pieces of content and added close to 7k today between the three.
Averaging Over 2,467 Per Article!
That means that I am averaging very close to 2,500 words per article. My longest is post is 6800 words (Pillar Article) which I know will rank very well in Google once Google 'gets around to it'.
Minimum Content Standards
Many people ask me how I can write content that long and have it be relevant all the way through.
It's because I have MCS (Minimum Content Standards. I will not create content for my site or even a keyword unless I can get a certain number of words out of it.
- Regular Article (1,600-2500)
- Review Article (3-5k)
- Pillar Articles (6k+)
MCS Not For Everyone
I realize that MCS may not be for everybody, but consider this:
Google tend to rank content over 2200 between Page 1-3,if that's where you wanna be you will need to write long content.
Weekly Site Update Coming On Friday/Saturday
One last thing, I plan to do my normal site update either Friday or Saturday coming up so look for it then.
What Do You Think?
I want to hear from you. what do you think of this post, the site, the content? Let me know in the comments below.
Have a good day.

No I just create a 'writing skeleton' using SiteContent Templates. Then I fill in the article with my content,
I can count. I have been educated by WA!.
Thanks, Barb.
It is starting to get hot over here and I should send some of our weather over to your neck of the neighborhood, especially up in Canada where Patsy is. She said it was -35C. WOW, that is cold.

That's a good tip. I have a 'hit list' of articles that I have for day's when I 'can't think of what to write about'.
That's some good progress right there. Well done.
I will pop over and take a look at your place, thank for the invite.

I visited the site, and that's a good idea for a niche.
Yeah I designed the site around being an 'answer site', not a product site (like amazon).
This way people who visit are not bombarded with offers, if they want to 'buy' something after they read my material I'm not gonna stop them.
Even if they don't 'buy something' at least they can say that my site 'helped answer their questions'.
