Working on my site content framework now and had a revelation. My site deals with audio frequencies which can be technical and confusing. I was thinking of having a static page to explain what they can be used for and what the advantages are -- answering the reader's assumed question of "what's in it for me?" But then I read the various opinions about static pages most of which were that google prefers fresh content. Ok, scratch the static page.

The pages/categories I'd planned were basically descriptions of frequency types and how they work. But I was uneasy with that because I knew that for someone newly exploring the subject, the type descriptions would be just an analysis, not answering what was in it for them.

Then the revelation: the info I would've put on the static page about why to use frequencies in the first place could be divided into pages describing the benefits. Types and how they work became one single reference page.

Whew. The convolutions a long winded techie person like me goes through to make content inviting!
