Taking the first steps.
Like everyone else here I have taken the plunge and become a premium member of WA. How exciting to be a part of this amazing community!
I must admit that I was a bit skeptical at first of all of the positive reviews of WA. Because we all know that if something sounds too good to be true then it must be right?! However, after working through the first course and reading so many comments and blog posts, I can see that this is not some 'easy money' scam, but in fact a tried and tested way to set up a good online business.
I am so excited that this is a way to follow my passion and hopefully make a bit of extra money along the way. As a stay-at-home-mum who daily questions how I can be contributing to wider society, I think this is it. I love being with my children, however I know that I have more to offer to others in an extended network. I have some capacity and want to engage intellectually so what better time than now?
I feel like I should share my anxiety towards online communities. I am perhaps traditional in the sense that I place a huge amount of value on my 'physical friendships' being people I see a lot and whom I want to hang out with. However, since moving away from my family and best friends (the family I choose!) I now communicate with them regularly online. Which means it is not such a big step to then meet people online who are willing to get involved and assist me with my new business. I need to get over this hurdle and embrace the opportunities that it will bring.
Making this first post is a good step in the right direction. Here's to some goal setting and website building.
Cheers,
Catherine
