To Whom Much Is Given
When You Give Of Yourself
I was gifted the book 'The Prophet' by Khalil Gibran at a very early age. Language was always important to me. As an only child who spent much of her time with herself, words, reading and language were my companions. I would talk with myself about my dreams of a better life and share all the things I would do when I was blessed with plenty. My Grandmother never called us poor, but in the scheme of things, we did not have much.
From Shakespeare, I graduated to Gibran. I read everything that he wrote and studied him like the back of my hand. My favourite book of his though remains 'The Prophet'. On Giving, he wrote:
The Social Impact of WA's Giving
This morning, I started working wondering if we all truly understand the impact of the giving here at WA. We "live" together in a virtual world that is connected to every continent on Earth. If you want to, you can find someone here from every country I am sure. That is HUGE! We are not satisfied with that though. We are encouraged and compelled to GIVE - not money or possessions - of OURSELVES. In my WA experience, everyone gives generously of their time, knowledge, experience. Some of our Members have become true friends and even meet in their physical communities.
The social impact of this giving at WA is quite profound. It changes mindsets and behaviours and these positive changes are taken into our own communities - homes, schools, neighbourhoods, workplaces - the giving continues outside of WA. That IS HUGE!
Our opportunity for social impact and change is full on!
Much, Much More Is Expected
I did not expect this when I came to WA. My attraction was to start a Digital Business, earn a lot of money and say "goodbye" to the traditional work concept. Little did I know the profound impact that WA would have on my life, in such a short space of time. I am transforming. Every post I read, every question I discover and every experience I engage in, feeds my transformation. As I write, my feelings of confidence, potential and well being are at an all-time high and I know those rankings will continue to rise. ๐
Our Community is not perfect. Nothing in life is. However, I CHOOSE to focus on and attract the positives. As the light touches me, I raise my hands and look into it with joy and gratitude. Negativity does not have a place here.
We have all been given a blessing by finding WA and being connected to each other in this place. Everything happens for a reason. I believe that to whom much is given, much, much more is expected.
Heidi talks about "paying it forward" and I am in full agreement. My gratitude will keep on giving.
Thank you!

Hi Barb,
I think it comes back 10-fold. ๐
Yes, they do look like mustard fields.
Do they have a lot in Montana?
Thank you for your kind words.
