The Harvest

Last Update: January 03, 2019

Hi everyone. I have been considering the content of some of the blogs that I have read recently, and how we may appear to newcomers or visitors to the platform.

Expectations can be high when others first come to take a look around and they may not understand the time, hard work and patience involved in the online industry.

What we represent is far from a get rich quick philoshophy as we all know and understand. Even when we have been here a while and are working towards our goals it can seem difficult as we work tirelessly towards that first breakthrough.

We see others posting their success and wonder how long before we reach the point where we know we are going to make it, that we will achieve what we individually set out to accomplish for ourselves (it's going to be so different for eveyone).

Right now is what we need to challenge ourselves on.

This moment.

What are we doing towards achieving what we want and how do we promote this to newcomers?

In the early stages we are building the foundations of our business, sowing the seeds so to speak. This cannot happen over night, it takes time.

In the words of Robert Louis Stevenson:

"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant."

Are you planting the seeds so that you will have that good harvest later on, or are you just wondering where the fruit is when the seed has not even been sown yet?

Have a great day!

Very good point, Cass. It certainly isn't a get rich quick experience, but the education is great. I'll just keep planting seeds.

Thank you for sharing, Cassandra! Yeah, it takes time to plant the seeds and blossom into a big tree with beautiful flowers and even amazing fruits! :o)

I know I need to plant more seeds. I worry about showing my earnings because new people starting out might think "Wow, she has been here for several years and still doesn't make that much". I am afraid they won't understand I don't do this full time. This isn't even my second job, it is my third job. If I worked at this full time I would make much more. I hope someday I can eliminate my regular job and live off of real estate rentals and my websites.

It definitely takes work though. That is why it has taken me nearly 3 years to make $1,000 profit. I just have not been consistent enough here.

Hi Jessica, yes I sometimes worry that new people could be discouraged when we want to encourage and reassure them. Thanks It is so different for everyone, depending on their circumstances. As long as we know we are happy with where we are at:)
All the best, Cass

Yes, and I have to remember I am not here to convince other people to join WA. I am here first and foremost to learn how to build my own niche websites. I love getting WA referrals and I don't want to discourage anyone but I have to focus on MY business first. That is just the way it is.

I am happy with how I am progressing. The first year I paid monthly for about 10 months then took the Black Friday deal so I guess I spent over $400 the first year. The second year I was only in the hole about $100 and this year I made $1,000. I am on the slowly buy surely track I guess!

You are doing awsome Jessica and you are always inspiring others with your wonderful attitude. We need to remember we are not all able to do this full time at this point, but we are sowing the seed for later:):)
