Being Safe!
Back to school, this week was rather daunting, with school reopening, getting my youngest ready and my two grand kids, it was, and still is a little scary with Covid19 still in play.
What to Do?
You have to wonder! should you go virtual or do you do what they are calling hybrid, that is 2 to 3 days in school and the rest at home.
After a back and forth we decided to go virtual at least until the end of the year and keep our eye on things and see how Covid19 is playing out, with no vaccine, and some people still thinking it is a hoax, we have to think twice before deciding.
Trust!
It sometimes hard to trust the environment we live in, so we are going to continue to play it safe and continue too pray.
I know it going to be more work at home with the kids, making sure that they go online on time to get their work done, that will the new norm for now.

It is a tough decision to make but each person has to make the one that seems best for their family at that time.
Our grandchildren went back to school but its only 5 minutes' walk away and it's easy to keep a check and monitor the ongoing situation.
Like you, if the situation warrants it then we will teach them at home. Thank goodness for technology.
Very difficult to make a decision on Marilyn and I am really glad that I don't have it before me to make. Only I trust you will make it in the best interests of what you think is best for you and yours!!

My Grandkids are doing hybrid because my daughter works full time, and also her husband. This is very difficult to spend all evening after 12 hr shifts. Also for the cost of the school seems rather unfair overall. No interaction with children if just virtual. They live in the country, and even with weekend athletics that's started for one the other has nothing to do to be with children her age.
It's tough during this time, I understand for sure. I have in my 70 years been through Hong Kong flu, H1-N1 etc. During 1968-1970 we had no masks and no lock downs. I was in college, and practiced proper hygiene taught by my parents and common sense. The rate of fatalities during that time was higher and very communicable.
Wish you the best in your situation.
Take care,

Children are at far less risk than older adults with medical conditions. For the vast majority Covid is like a cold or at worse the flu. They should be in school. If everybody stays locked up we will never attain herd immunity.
Sweden went about business as usual. No masks, no social distancing. At first their infection rate was high but now it is the lowest in the world

It is so difficult, isn't it? I am a teacher and I have been home since March. School opens in Guyana tomorrow 14th September. I have two school-aged children and thankfully school for us is completely online now. At least for the moment.
Interestingly enough Guyana is not really prepared for this. There are still parts of this country that has neither electricity nor the internet so you can imagine. For those children, we are doing worksheets. I'm just grateful that neither my children nor I have to return to school. As of next week I'll be one of the teachers preparing worksheets and teaching online and yes, working with my children.
I really think home is the best place to be right now.
