Hi, I've been working hard on my website, to try to get it to an acceptable level. I do feel however it's a bit lack lustre and not very exciting. I know there are a lot of fan

One thing you might want to consider is using a featured image on each of your posts.

These will then show up on your homepage, adding more colour and life to the homepage.

Thank you for your help

Your website is lovely. However, what I am going to write now is my opinion as a customer (visitor). Your logo is not appealing for me; I would make some minor changes such as transparent background vs. that pink background.

Also, the sidebar to the right side is somewhat messy; there is no need to add the logo again. I would get rid of those recent comments too.

Also, I would prefer to see a website with other legal pages such as Affiliate disclaimer page.

Another thing I noticed is that you only wrote about products which seem for me not trustworthy and it's like you promote your products. I love to see more useful information combined with those product posts. For example (how to be more eco friendly), remember some people are interested in what you offer, but they need more information.

As a fellow AMer:

I noticed is that your posts now are somewhere around 600 words. It is better to increase it to 1200 - 1500 words, I believe they do better than short posts.

If you are not going to show yourself in the "about me" page, it is better to rewrite "my mission" to "our mission." Because we see My mission and My aim, then I want to know who you are and what you are doing to be eco friendly to follow your lead.

*Remember, you are an influencer now.
The last thing I noticed is that you picked a category rather than a niche to write about. I believe this is too broad for blogging. I think it is better to go for a niche, such as eco-friendly makeups or beauty products. Then later, one you can expand your website to reach more niches goes under eco-friendly products.

Thank you for your comments. They’ve been very helpful. I know I need to niche down. It’s sometimes easy to get swept away in promoting and forgetting to add some valuable content. I’ll certainly be taking on board your suggestions

I was going through a network on a recent product I want to promote. Out of curiosity I checked direct with the company providing the product and found they also had an affilia

Read the rest of what you said below about the programs. That makes more sense, because as @ChrystopherJ said, networks do not permit merchants to have a different/higher commission rate for their in-house program than what is offered on the network.

One other thing to look at is the payment threshold. For example, on Awin, our threshold is $20. On in-house program, because it's so much work and expensive to do, the payment threshold could be $50 or $100. It could take a lot of sales before you get any commissions.

It's very strange that the Supplier/Vendor has their own Affiliate Program and is also registered with an Affiliate Network. Usually, the Network will not allow them to have their own program, especially with different rates. However, saying that, if it is allowed by the Network, then it's up to you as to who you go with. You might get more Help & Support from the Network, or might choose to receive Higher Commissions.

The Cookie Duration is how long the cookie is valid for. I.e. If the visitors comes to your website and clicks on the link, the cookie is placed on their computer with a Timestamp. If they don't signup or make a purchase on the Suppliers/Vendors website, but they do return directly to the Supplier/Vendors webwite within the Time Duration (in this case 30 Days), then you will still be credited with the purchase.

Based on your comments above, the Network also provide you with 3% Commissions for Existing Customers, so this means if that same Visitor, now a Customer, returns to the Supplier/Vendors website and makes another purchase, then you still get the commision. This is not tied to them having a valid cookie any more, as they are assigned to you in the Suppliers/Vendors system.

The cookie however can be invalidated by either your visitor clearing their browser cache before making a purchase, or by clicking on another referers afiliate link before making a purchase.

Hope this makes sense and helps,
Chrystopher

Thanks for that. just to clear things up, the product on the network is not direct from the company making it, but is just one product through an online seller. Guess it's just my decision of the way I want to go but i appreciate your feedback.

Thanks also for clearing up the information around cookies. You have given me a better understanding of how they work.

I’d always go to the manufacture rather than a reseller, if the manufacturer sells direct. Cuts out the middle man and you earn more profit.

Hi can I have some help please. Two things, Firstly- How do iIget my posts to be on my home page, rather than having them as a drop down,

When I look at the code for your post I see the

 and
tags around the affected content in question. Try removing those tags.

Thanks so much, that worked. To avoid me doing that again, do you know what I would have done in the first place to make that happen?

I'm not sure how it happened. Sometimes it could happen if you copy and paste or drag content in, etc.

It looks like you might have your site setup with a static home page, try changing it to a blog roll instead.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I can't work out where I change this. Please could you let me know. I appreciate your help.

Hi
I think I'm getting a bit confused here. When I log onto my website it does show my latest posts. so I think its ok and there is no issue. Thanks for your help
