A Day of Technology SNAFUs
Well, yesterday bit the big one in the technology department. My very expensive tablet wouldn't turn on. Yes, it was fully charged. Then my not-so-old printer blew a gasket. And then, to top it off. . .
I signed in to last night's webinar and bingo-bango-boingo. . . my laptop goes buns up! I tried signing in on the old desktop I use for transcription, but it wouldn't handle the Go To Webinar site. Arghhhh
After a few feeble attempts to fix things, I did what every technology warrior does. . . I GAVE UP!!! I felt much better after a few hours of Ancient Aliens. LOL!!!
So today I have to go pitch a conniption fit at Best Buy, receipts in hand, and get them to fix or replace. But there IS some good news, too.
Laptop came back up this morning like there was nothing wrong with it. What happened? To quote my tutoring student. . . . Space Magic!
#1 son and his girlfriend are here so we can go to the buffet to celebrate #2 son's birthday. Then the kids are going to a karaoke bar tonight for some fun.
Meanwhile, I will enjoy bringing the wrath of the gods down on Best Buy, lunch with the male kidlets (and girlfriend) and then get my sorry arse to work. I was so far behind before. . . oh well, there's always tomorrow, eh?
The moral of this story is that "technoloogy" happens and that life is never all bad.

I had a similar experience, only it was my own training webcast.
Technology messed up and I had just tested everything, all good.
Like I tell many of my clients, electronics fail without warning.

Thanks Ken. I know we are too doggone dependent on this stuff. Still, if you depend on it for business, it's tough when it goes down. I'll get everything fixed.
Carla commiserations!!! Gee IT gremlins travel your way too..... Well my son's future mother in law killed a very poisonous black snake on the lawn....today..... This lawn in 6 weeks is going to host 140 for a wedding... So I reckon a spade might be useful all round!!!!!!! Good to keep your sense of humour!!!! Take care.
Spade? For a poisonous black snake? I think I'd prefer a shotgun. LOL Hopefully, its friends will NOT show up for a piece of wedding cake. :)

I must say Carla that the term "buns up" is a new one on me. Is it a technological term ? If I have problems with my computer, I often find that threatening it with a large hammer can work wonders. Hope everything is alright now.
Mine didn't respond to the hammer threat. LOL I picked "buns up" from a play many years ago, about someone's life going buns up into the blender. :)

Don't you just hate it when technology goes belly up? My friend's new LG phone was all over the place this morning and the awful thing is he told me it was my fault! Apparently it's because I bought his old phone from him... WTF??
I hope you get that tablet fixed asap, I know how much you rely on it!
Yeah, that's the worst of it. I love my Surface Pro 2 and have come to use it a LOT. I took it to an interview the other night and, surprise,, it wouldn't turn on. grrr Good thing I'm old and carry a notebook with me at all times. :)
Haha very sensible! I've got a feeling my Surface 2 did that once, but it wasn't the Pro. I just held my finger on the on button for what seemed like about a minute and it came to life eventually!
