Hey folks!

Just a heads up to those who don't like their domain name registrar. For the second year NameCheap is doing the "Move Your Domain Day" where you can transfer your domains to them for $3.98. This means that you'll add another year of registration to whatever time you still have left on that domain. NameCheap also gives you 1 year of free "private registration".

I just moved the 6 domains that I still had with GoDaddy. FInally I am not a GoDaddy customer anymore :)

From NameCheap: "Today only $3.98, for each domain transferred (.com, .net, .org, .info and .biz) using coupon code NC15MYDD".

Here is a NON-affiliate link: https://www.namecheap.com/campaigns/2015/mydd.aspx

Enjoy!

dang, I missed it

Oops ... I'm a little late getting to this post. Was this a "one day special"?

Unfortunately it was a one day special :(

I am already with Namecheap, but thanks for the heads up

Thank you - Your timing is perfect!

Aw man... I just re-uped at Go Daddy a couple of days ago... )-:

This is kind of you to share! :)

Moved my last remaining 2 with GoDaddy over to NameCheap too.

Just in time! They were expiring in April so now I get another full year for a great price.

Thank you buddy !

Why everyone rather NameCheap instead of GoDaddy? Why is NameCheap better?

Cheers,

Hi Julio. I have used both and personally I get better service with namecheap.com. I have watched the price of a domain go up on godaddy.com before I even get it purchased. I've never had a problem with namecheap.com, they don't mess around.

GoDaddy has often taken a political position that's against my own (ex: supporting SOPA).

Also GoDaddy often asks me for $18-$20 to renew a domain when NameCheap keeps it at 11-12$ or so. That adds up when you have 50+ domain names.

A lot of people also had horrible customer service experience from GoDaddy so I guess that might be another reason.

Thanks Alex. I've been looking to move away from GoDaddy for a while. What a perfect opportunity to do so!

:) Glad it's useful to you!

Thank you Alex, I've got two at GoDaddy that I'm more than happy to move to Namecheap. Appreciate you sharing this! :)

Sure! I actually still have 2 left at GoDaddy... I am not transferring them because I don;t think I'll ever use those domains so I'll probably just let them expire.
