My Mobile Speed Improved a Lot by Using this Plugin
Site speed is very important for your site rank in Google. What if your site speed suddenly turns very slow? Will you be frustrated? I will.
Recently I found my site speed on mobile end had become very slow. The Google PageSpeed Insight tool shows the score on mobile is between 30 to 40, which means my mobile speed is poor. The PageSpeed Insight report showed the opportunity to improve the site speed. But I’m frustrated, as I know nothing about it. The metric seems too complicated. I don’t understand what the report was talking about.
Then I tried to do the following:
I contacted WA site support but with no luck.
I contacted the theme support but with no luck.
I searched on both Google and WA.
I posted a question on WA.
Finally, I found the solution by searching on WA. There are many posts about how to improve the site speed and some of them suggest using the WP Rocket plugin. Then I tried the WP Rocket plugin. At the beginning, the plugin didn't help improve the speed. The score is still between 30 to 40. Then I contacted their support who asked me to enable some settings.
After enabling the settings, I ran a test on PageSpeed Insight again. Unbelievable, the score on mobile end jumps to 100. WP Rocket is really helpful to improve site speed! If you’re facing the same issue as me, you can try this plugin as well. If it doesn’t work for you, you can ask for a full refund with the 14-day money back guarantee.
At the end, I’d like to thank WA and the guys who tried to give me a hand. After I posted the question to WA, I received many replies. Some of you guys gave me many helpful suggestions. WA is a place whenever you can ask for help!

Hi Camilla,
SiteSpeed at WA is a caching platform that is extremely advanced and more powerful that plugins. That said plugins like WP Rocket can help with specific issues such as Lazy Loading images. On Mobile, data transfer speed is the main culprit for a lower score. There are 100's of plugins out there that will lazy load imagery.
Lazy loading simply delays the loading of an image until it's in view. A post on your website may have 10+ images, but a lazy loading plugin like WP Rocket will load the images only as you scroll the page, thus the initial load of the page is far smaller in file size, thus giving you a faster load time and better score.
Caching of content is what WA SiteSpeed take care of - it means that when a page loads, it's instantly delivered to the user without having to load the entire WordPress framework (which is VERY slow in comparison to serving cached content).
SiteSpeed + a lazy loading plugin allow you to leverage both the benefits of caching your site, the deferring media loading until required.
To display an image in a user's browser, it has to be downloaded to that browser, and Lazy Loading can prevent significant download requirements if you have imagery and or video on your site!
You can rest assured, we are working on a lazy loading platform to be included with SiteSpeed. One that will require no plugin or no need to upgrade to any plugin's PREMIUM upsell. Just one of the many improvements we're working on with our hosting offering here at WA :)
Cheers,
Carson
Hi Carson,
Glad to hear that. Look forward to the improvement.
I see that many people here had run into the slow mobile issues. That's really a headache for people like me who know little about speed things. It's fantastic if no plugin is required.
Thanks for sharing this, I'm at exactly the same place where I just raised an IT ticket with WA, not too hopeful based on your experience. However, my main issue was "Serve images in the next gen format" so not sure if WP rocket is the right fix?
