What is the reason behind you joining WA?
Hi everyone,
I sure hope you are all doing well and are being productive.
I have often wondered why some people have joined Wealthy Affiliate, I know most of you have joined to increase or establish financial freedom. But if we set money aside: what is your fundamental reason for joining the WA community?
I came to WA for three major reasons: to learn how to build a website, learn how to take existing websites to the next level, and to help others reduce the learning curve to mastering Affiliate Marketing.
SO I’m curious!
So what is your why?
What are the main reasons (personally) why you joined WA?
Please, I am looking for just simple, straight forward, and honest answers!
If your shy and don’t want to share your why with the community, you can still PM me and I will keep your secret. I would never publically disclose anything sent to me via Private Message because it is that – private. And I for one, respect everyone’s privacy!

My straight up why was to earn money, but I was not looking to do so much work for it, lol!!! is on me, but I am very happy to be here, this is a total new world to me, which I love every moment to it as I proceed, Maybe slow, but I am moving along.

Every step is still a step forward o matter how big or small, as long as you make some sort of movement it will still help you ultimately reach your goal.

Set money aside - i realized that this platform offers a huuuudge amount of knowledge and is very transparent.
So:
- it gives you all the knowledge how and what to build
- it gives you all the tools to build not only a website but also optimzie your website/content
- it hosts your website save and well
- there is almost no limit of getting help and motivation thanks to this awesom community. Its so easy to connect - thats a key to keep going.

However, I was sort of trying to get answers to the internal personal reasons as to why you joined WA and not what WA has to offer that attracted you to the platform.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Calvin!
I joined it because i was curious about this proffession and also because it gave me the opportunity to try making my own website.
I am looking at it as a "school" to widen my horizon and get to play with a lot of tools.
Hope thats more of what you were looking for ;)

There is no reason to apologize. It was my fault for not stating clearing what I was looking for as far as answers. I come from the old school and when some asked us for our why most knew that it was their internal person reason for wanting to learn how to make money online. So its my bad.
Regardless we got around the error and I got the answers I was looking for so all is good. No harm no foul.

Great post.
I joined WA because I wanted to learn how to make my own website. Also I wanted to do more writing - maintain and practise my english.
I'm lying if I say I'm not interested in making a few extra bucks along the way.
I thoroughly researched online which program to choose, and landed on WA. I have not regretted it for a second. WA with all its fabulous members is an amazing platform, and I always get help when I need it.

I joined WA to learn new skills and to potentially build a new career. It was important to me that I could do this in my own time (being a primary carer for children with a full time job), without having to retrain at University. I already have 3 university degrees lol. I wanted something practical/tangible without costing me a fortune. So WA fit the bill perfectly. I signed up for the yearly membership within less a week of discovering WA as I knew it was the place for me.

Wow 3 degrees, I only have two bachelors (4-year degrees). Mine are Health Care Administration, and the second Business Leadership.
What are your degrees, if you don't mind me asking?

Hi Calvin, "only" 2! Lol. It's amazing to have 2 degrees. I never really planned on 3, it just happened that way.
I have a Science degree, a degree in management and a Masters degree in Commerce. I originally wanted to be a research scientist but then changed my mind and the rest of my studies were more about business. That was all in the 90s and if I were to be a student now I wouldn't choose those same degrees. In fact I probably wouldn't even go to university - I'd do online learning like here and put it into practice as I go. Alas things have changed - and for the better!

The problem, as I see it, with the traditional college degree s you spend all that money and time to obtain all that knowledge but have nowhere to apply it to.
I am glad to see that today, most colleges have graduate placement programs something that I wished they had when I got my degree.
I never received any information or guidance to help me find a degree suitable job. I am actually happy, now, that it wasn't available to me because if it were; I'd probably be stuck in that very same job today just earning a simple paycheck vs being my own boss and benefiting directly from my efforts.
