Don't Panic
Holy Cow, something just happened to me that has not happened before when creating a post. I was at word 1800 and something and I clicked something, not sure what, and my post had 1 word on it.
You know that feeling you get a rush over your body when your blood pressure goes up, maybe a little bit of nausea and a whole lot of panic. I decided to take a deep breath and not panic. I also decided not to click anything until I figured out what the heck just happened
And then, I saw the best number and text I've ever seen in my life. ( 26 Revisions )....man oh man was I glad to see that. I clicked on Revisions and reverted back to the one I saved only a few minutes prior. I think I only lost something like 10 words.
I normally click "Save" about every 2 minutes anyway when I'm writing posts, but, I had not noticed that Revision link before. All I can say is thank you Kyle and Carson and the tech team for adding that link there. You saved my life.
I hope this has helped someone who didn't know that Revision link was there.
Ok, get back to work now!

That's useful to know, though I have a backup plugin called updraft that backs up a copy of my wordpres s blog daily. Thanks for sharing, and glad you didnt lose all your hard work. ☺
Hi KathyAnne, would that plugin work for content written via WA? I know one thing, that Revision link was a breath of fresh air, literally!
Thanks
Cal
DON’TPANIC!
I love it! I learned this after a similar experience but I did panic and threw a temper tantrum. Walked away and came back and then I discover that link. Wow, saved me big time. I’ll be calm the next time, if there is a next time. I have decided not to type directly into the site but rather type my post on MS Word on my laptop and then cut and paste across .
Have you tried hitting control-z when that happens? It usually restores everything you just wrote. I have that problem many times, and was so happy to learn the control-z trick.
I should have known that, but, before panic set in I decided to just get my hands off the laptop and look around first. I'll remember the CTRL Z for next time.
Thanks,
Cal
I have done the same thing! When I get writing, I forget to hit the save button a lot of times and will have 1000 words written without saving at all. Thank God for the auto-save revisions!
It is definitely a nice built-in feature. I had only been working on it for about 5 hours. Holy Moly!
Thanks,
Cal

it does happens you have to keep calm and follow through ..find a solution
I think in my earlier years I would have panicked, maybe my age just told me to stop, back away from the keyboard and take a look before you panic.
Thanks
