As for me, I opened a separate checking account to handle everything pertaining to my new business. I then applied and got an EIN that will connect with any sales that I make, which is a super simple process and FREE and I got my # immediately. If you have any questions about your personal situation, I would talk it over with your tax advisor or a representative with the IRS. But if you go to look them up, be sure to use the http://irs.gov , do NOT use the .com.
