Wow, ok, so My site only been up for a couple days and someone already asking me to promote their site. It is in line with the things I want to do. I guess I am just shocked that someone has already asked me to affiliate with them? I looked at their sight and it seems legitimate? Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

This is normal and is definitely something to be proud of. They see potential in your business and are ready to invest their own business into yours. Be careful, though! Good luck :)

thank you!

I just checked this site out

It is a genuine site it is over 14 years old and is currently valued at about $15,000 so it looks like the site is genuine

Here is what to do, contact the support on the site and see if the person who contacted you is genuine, remember this is the internet its the digital wild west

When someone contacts you this way always ask this question

What is the benefit to the person who is contacting you

You have no way of knowing their real identity so contact the support on the site in question and ask if they have contacted you

If they contact sites about affiliate marketing the first thing they would want to know is the level of your traffic, otherwise why would they contact you if it would not benefit them

Before you get over exited, do some very deep research and speak to them directly

Barry

Thank you so much, that is very helpful and I definitely intend on doing that.

Hi Bob, yes, sorry, I put it in my blog and then thought it better to ask the community as a whole. I agree it is a red flag, I am going to move with caution. I have looked at their site though and if it is a scam, it is a HUGE one. Thanks so much for your response.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't sure if you were referring to the same company or a different one.

One way to check them out would be to enter their domain name and the word "review" into google search. I find it difficult to fathom why a big affiliate program would be contacting a brand new blog. (Maybe I'm just being paranoid.)

I did that and the reviews are all good. Several reviews, like thousands. The site is also BBB accredited? I dunno. I know the old adage if something looks too good, but I am not finding anything bad thus far. Odd, very odd

If you don't mind sharing it, what is the name of the site? Perhaps other WA members have some experience with it. You're right -- something is very odd about this.

it is......

Did you hear from them directly or from someone who runs an affiliate program for them? While I do see their site listed with a number of affiliate programs, I don't see anything on their site itself about having an affiliate program. That may or may not be a red flag; sorry, I just don't know. (I really wish that someone here at WA with direct experience in this would chime in. I'm clearly over my depth here.)

It was from a gentlemen who says he is the from there and runs the sem and affiliate program. His email was for that site also.

Is this the same as your other question or is there another company involved?
