Today I finally came to the decision to stop avoiding Facebook. In the past I have tried to stay away and not become a member of Facebook. The reasons why are many however I am going to briefly mention a few.

For the most part the sheer amount of personal questions they were requesting seemed to be unending. Although I was not personally a user of Facebook almost everyone I know online is signed up with them. There were some who knew when they signed up that they weren't going to be active with their account. Yet they still signed up and were delighted to start answering a multitude of questions. And put a great deal of their personal information on there just for the fun of it.

If they were married or single and if so what was there spouses names. And what did they do for a living and where is that located. If you've got other family members then how many.

Do you like music because if so we want to know what type, and if not we want to know that too. What movies do you watch and how often because inquiring minds want to know.

In the past it always looked like one big giant attempt by Facebook advertisers to get anything and everything they could possibly ask a person about themselves, pictures included and get it for free. Truly a marketers dream. All these people putting out all this personal information, just waiting for advertisers to come along and sell'em something.

However now days I am seeing things from a fresh perspective. Since I am currently studying on how to become a successful Online Entrepreneur. I am now compelled to see many of the benefits of Facebook.

For starters if you are interested in finding out what people are interested in, then there's really no better place to find out. There are plenty of demographics and lot's useful information. That does give one the ability to reach a wide variety of people. As well as, niche in and reach a smaller and more targeted group of people. Which can be very valuable if you want to do any kind of business online, and you want to truly know your audience.

And of course it is also a great opportunity to meet new people and to make friends. If you're into networking and interacting with others who share similar interest, then Facebook is probably one of the best places.

Yes Facebook is starting to become a more stringent with users, especially marketers and advertisers. Nonetheless if utilized properly they can be a powerful ally for anyone currently running or starting a new business online.
