If someone comes to our site, reads our article and leaves a comment, isn't that what we are looking for?

If we do paid advertising, are we not paying people to come to our website to read our content? So what would be the difference if we paid them to read an article and leave a comment?

If we ask for comments here and say we will return the favor, are those comments from visitors who came specifically to our site? Are we not in a way paying for the comments here? Make a comment on mine and I will make a comment on yours. When we do that here, those are not really true visitors leaving comments.

So, honestly, to clear this up for any new people, what really is the difference between doing it here or paying a service to do it? If that service is people reading the blog and leaving a comment?

Because the service usually consists of fake comments, whereas the WA ones are from real people.

Paid advertising is just a way to get targeted visitors to your site, your'e not paying them to read your articles/posts you are paying for visitors that are looking for your product or service.

Comments from WA are from real people and they help to show activity on your site. If you pay a service from say Fiverr you don't know what you will get really, although it can be beneficial to a degree.

I think you are just overthinking this, as I did. But lots of business use paid advertising it's the nature of being online so,

paid advertising = Targeted visitors
Comments = Activity on your site

Hope this helps.

I would use site comments here instead.

I would buy from here but not outside here

To me buying comments could be equated to cheating. Comments are for other visitors to view and help them decide if they want to visit your website any further.

So when we are trading comments here, are we not do the same thing as paying a service. I leave a comment on yours and I will return the favor. Is that not still "paying" for the comments.

If we pay via AdWords for people to come to our site, we again are paying for people to come to our site.

Sooooo, what is the difference? If someone was new here and needed to know

Why would trading comments here be different then paying a service for comments?

By trading comments on WA, I am telling it as it is, but if I were paying for comments I would not be happy to see any negative comments even if they were true.

You are paying people to give you a positive comment, whether your site is worth it or not!

AdWords is an advertising aid, not a comment procedure. You pay people to visit your site and buy your products with AdWords not to comment on your site. If you get comments then that is an added bonus, but that is not what you are paying for!

Derek

Google is very good at finding out which comments are organic or not. Be careful, I wouldn't personally do it. If you want to spend money you can pay for credits here at WA and ask for actual comments from members. Jim
