Starter Office for Now and Beyond: Get started with the right tools

I started with WA having a mac mini 2012 and macbook pro 2016. I also had old intel laptops and desktop in the house as well as android devices (and plenty of them since android is cheap).

So NO I am not an Apple only guy. In fact, I used to use Ubuntu as well converting old laptops to linux operating system.

But here is the thing all the other systems were a distraction. At the end of the day, I work with Apple devices to get things done. It is just me and not you. So this post will be heavily influenced with my work habits.

The thing about Apple products are that they are really powerful and usable for years to come.

My mac mini 2012 was replaced in early 2022 with a base model mac mini m1. It really takes a long time before you really need to replace this.

Also for wierd reasons you do not need to bother about slow downs, crashes and viruses as much as you would need to with windows systems even when Apple had intel processors. (Not a IT security person so do not ask me about it.)

Yes there were some slow downs and crashes but it is a lot uncommon so that you can focus on work. With security on virus, well I won't know did not have any antivirus installed because I did not notice anything unusual with my macs to give me a reason to install them.

Going New, Refurbished and Renewed

My mac mini 2012 was bought second hand from another user so it was not even refurbished or renewed. But for my Mac mini m1 well that was bought new.

The thing about refurbished and renewed items they are either second hand with no issues or second hand with issues but professionally fixed. Both types under refurbished and renewed labels should have been checked for any issues by the technicians. Also try to buy from reputable companies that informs you how they check and clean refurbs and renewed items.

You might realize that buying preowned or fixed up items can save you money and if you buy previous years model that could give you a bigger discount.

Why the M1

I am suggesting the M1 because at its base model it handles all that is needed to run WA work load (managing websites, creating graphics, and content writing/research) flawlessly with enough power that you can go into creating and editing your own videos.

I used to take a day or two just to encode 15 minute videos on windows and my old mac mini (2012)/ mac book pro (2016). With the base model M1 chip 8-10 minutes. Yeah, you will be set if you ever need or want to go into videos.

Another thing to note is power efficiency. The base model mac mini m1 runs at around 40 watts when run busy. To compare with other systems normal desktops run around 200-400 watts and gaming PC anywere from 400 to 700 watts maybe even more for very high end gaming devices.

With rising prices spending less on electricity bill is a plus.

Office for success how does that look

Refurbished Mac Mini M1 runs $110 less on the Apple website. Once new models of Apple come in, you can look into Amazon, Bestbuy, Walmart, or Backmarket for Refurbished or Renewed.

Than you can just buy second hand keyboard and mouse and monitor. OR just use your existing stuff like monitors and television that you already have.

For camera use your iphone or existing android. I use iphone so not sure what is used for android. For iphone I use the reincubate camo app. There are a few apps that converts your phone as webcam for PC or Mac.

IF you have an ipad you can use Duet Play app to make an ipad as secondary or main display.

Set for years of working

I am currently set up with my mac mini m1 to at least get working for another 8-10 years.

The hardware should not hinder you to do what is needed to make cash as an affiliate.

WA has the software tools covered and training. The question is when are you going to take action so that you are set to make money even while you are on vacation or sleeping.

I am actually on vacation writing this with my mac mini m1. Pretty cool to be able to work where ever and when ever.

If you read my past posts I was complaining that I was not able to get to Las Vegas and visit MGM before reaching 300 sales for the WA challenge. Well I visited MGM recently, and now I am going for my milestones soon. Would be fun to go to Vegas if WA pays for it. #going300 for #2023
