Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate it! And Happy Thankful Thursday wherever you are!
I don't often make a big production of the traditional Thanksgiving meal since I live alone, but I made an exception this year. I wouldn't cook a whole turkey, but I think I did all right with some other foods.
Looking forward to talking to my family tonight, and I realized, I haven't posted on here for a while.
I am happy that so many people are taking advantage of the Black Friday discount on annual membership this year. Unfortunately, I lack the resources to do so at present, but I am definitely planning to do what I need to be able to take this step next year. If you are in doubt as to whether you should upgrade or go annual, I say go for it!
.
I just started a new, part-time job, just over 2 weeks ago, after not having one for over 6 months. It is not the job I will have forever, but it is nice and close, and the store is full of wonderful people. Best of all I am now meeting many people from my own small town who I have never known before, after living here over 9 years.
It is a great blessing, I have so much to be grateful for. I am grateful for the wonderful community, resources, and classes on this website, among them.
I also love to reflect on my ancestors at this time of year. Two of them arrived in Massachusetts almost exactly 400 years ago, in 1621. They came over about 1 year after the Mayflower. Their names were William and Elizabeth Bassett. Since the "first Thanksgiving" was a harvest feast, they would have missed it by a couple of months.
So much has changed since then, but the Thanksgiving holiday reminds me to think of all my blessings and be grateful for everyone who came before.
May it be a blessed day, and as we approach the Christmas season, a Merry season of joy!
Thanks for reading everyone!
