Quite the Accomplishment!

I did it! It finally happened for me. Honestly, I wasn't sure if it was even possible, but the training really does pays off. So what is so amazing? What am I so proud of?

I made my first commission today...It was only $1 something, but it still shows that affiliate marketing can be successful. It just takes $1 at a time.

Here's the funny thing. It was a purchase I made through my affiliate company because my son wanted a ring that he could wear to remember our dog.

Joking aside, this was a pretty cool lesson in affiliate marketing.

First, it is important to engage the company whose products you promote. This will help build a relationship and trust between you that will help sustain your business in the long run. When it is a smaller company who is trying to get their name out on the interwebs, it is even more beneficial because you begin to build each other up, and utilize each of your strengths in marketing.

Second, it is important to choose quality vendors / companies whose products you WANT to promote. If you trust and like their products, that will go a long way with your readers. Your readers trust you and your reviews...And since you purchased something through the company, you can honestly tell your reader what you think.

Third, it's always good to test the system out. Work out all the bugs between you and your affiliate company, because once your readers start clicking on the affiliate links, you don't want to find out that the process has a kink in it. It's harder to fix when you are expecting commissions!

Fourth...and final. Follow the training that WA has to offer. All of the success stories have touted the training and how it really does work. So, even if you are discouraged, or you don't understand why you should follow step A, when you feel you should follow step B, FOLLOW THE TRAINING. :)
