Nature of Product and a little bit of drama
What is one of the most important keys to selling a product? You must figure out the nature of your product. Every product in the market has its own unique personality, its own particular nature, and it's up to you to find out what it is.
Add Some Drama to Your Product
How do you go about creating drama for your offering?. Every product out there has a HOOK. There is something about it that will stir up an emotional response in your product's target market. Your mission is to find out what that is. You need to express the true advantages of buying your widget while stirring up the emotions in your prospect.
For example. Companies do this a lot in the insurance business. Like Lifelock or Home Title Lock. They attempt to put the fear of God in you by enticing you to buy protection from fraud. I know they have stirred up my emotions, and my logic sets in and tells me I am being played. It works. No doubt about it.
You know what. It got under my skin a little just now, and I discovered something. I can save money (not on Geico) by going to my county's register of deeds and see if everything is copacetic. It is. I found my name and my property with no other activity. Check it periodically and you will protect your investment.
So, go out and discover the unique selling point in your widget. If there is a market for it, someone is excited about it. I never saw people get so excited about toilet paper until this pandemic. TP is about as boring as it gets... until you visualize yourself without it!
I must confess here in front of the community. I fell for it bad. I told people, I will just go online and buy some. I ordered toilet paper from CHINA for $25 US, and it took several months before it arrived at my doorstep. It was also really small and narrow. I busted out laughing... hysterically.
By the time it had arrived, I had already secured over 70 rolls by scoring big at Sam's Club. I still have tons. Fear is an excellent motivator to open up your wallet and no matter how much I understand some things in life, I still buy with emotion. I am human like the rest of us.
Thanks for reading.
Many blessings, Brian
