The joy of being your own boss

Last Update: June 08, 2017

One of the benefits of being your own boss, is that you can take time to spend with those who matter most.

Today I am taking time out of my day to take my son to his swimming lessons.

What does your day look like today?

Hey Brendan,

It is great hey, I can do what I need to daily as I have been self employed for more than 2 decades,

It is the norm for me, with my online business steadily building, it will improve my situation 2 fold.

all the best
Gary

Agree whole heartedly Gary. Looking forward to when I can get the online business to a point where I can start winding down the offline business and can spend more time with the family and not working.

Have a wonderful day. :)

Brendan, that's the most important in life, except for stay healthy, to spend time with your family. You have given your son the most precious gift of all - your time, a memory for life.

I'm working on getting independant. So I can visit my parents and sister more often. Can't see them that often as we live in different countries.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you Pernilla, I wish you the best in achieving your goal. I wouldn't trade the time I have with my son for anything.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

Good for you! Get out from behind that computer!!!

I have flown to a Calgary to be with my daughter and her family. We will be at music recitals, hockey games and a dance competition.

I won't be getting as much work done with WA as usual, but I will be filling my emotional bucket with great family memories!

Up at dawn to watch the sunrise. A few hours working on my website and content. Some time for exercise and work out. Some outdoor work in the yard. Trip to grocery store for stuff to make dinner. Prepare dinner for everyone. Evening time with wife and son. Maybe golf tomorrow.

I have been my own boss for about 2 months now. I never regretted a single moment.

Now I cringe at the thought of going back to a 9 to 5 office job.

It has been over 5 years since I last worked for someone else. The only thing I miss regularly is having work colleagues. That is where the WA community is so great. So many amazing people to have conversations with and to learn from :)

I don't miss any of my colleagues. all they did is plot and scheme against each other, including playing tricks on me. I'm glad I'm away from all that.

I like being my own boss, too. I really should have a discussion with him about a pay raise, however..

I've had that discussion a few times, have yet to come out on the winning side in that conversation.
