9 Winning Types of Blog Posts that Converts for Beginners

I got the answer for you if you want to create content that drives traffic and encourages conversion rates. This post presents nine types of blog posts that are perfect for even novice bloggers.

Let's learn how to write the nine blog posts that captivate your readers!

A Simple Format Guide for All Your Posts

You should follow this simple guide on writing all nine types of blog posts that convert.

Write a catchy headline
- this will draw readers in and make them want to learn more. Be sure to use keywords so that your post comes up in searches.

Start with an introduction that tells readers
what they can expect to learn from your post. Be sure to include a call-to-action so that readers know what you want them to do after reading your post (subscribe to your blog, share on social media, etc.)

Get straight to the point - no one wants to read a long, drawn-out post. Give readers the information they need concisely.

Use images, infographics, and videos
- these are all great ways to break up text and keep readers engaged. People are much more likely to remember information when it is presented interestingly.

A Call to Action -
add a call to action before the conclusion of your post that encourages readers to take action. This could be anything from signing up for your newsletter list, sharing your post on social media, or downloading an ebook.

End with a firm conclusion -
remind readers of what they have learned and emphasize the importance of action. Include another call to action so that they know what steps to take next.

Proofread and Edit for Clarity-
please review your post to check for any typos or errors before publishing it. This will ensure that readers have the best experience possible when reading. You can use the Grammarly app, Prowriting Aid, or Hemingway Editor to help you.

1. The How-to Guides and Posts

If you're a new blogger, creating a how-to guide or post is the perfect way to display your expertise and build trust between yourself and your readers.

You should choose the right type of post to write, especially if you want to convert readers into customers or subscribers.

People search the internet to find solutions to difficulties, and presenting a well-structured how-to guide can be advantageous. You can use screenshots, pictures, or videos when explaining the steps; you are more likely to be remembered when they require help again.

Creating a “how-to” guide should be as thorough as possible, with step-by-step instructions and visuals or video footage. It's also beneficial to focus on a particular group of people so the guide is tailored to their needs.

Example of a How To Post Title:

For example, if you sell skincare products, you could write a “how-to” guide on achieving clear skin using natural ingredients.

  • How to Keep Your Skin Healthy During the Winter Months.
  • How to Boost Your Email Marketing Rates
  • How to Engage Your Customers to Buy The Best Products

2. The Ultimate Buyer's Guide Post

The Ultimate Buyer's Guide is a post that has a list of different products and their reviews. It is an excellent way to help your readers find the right product for them and increase your authority and trust in them.

A buyer's guide post is an excellent resource for potential customers to gain essential details before purchasing. It provides an unbiased opinion that those still exploring can take advantage of. To make the most of this guidance, be sure to include all the necessary information that your readers or customers would want to understand, such as:

  • Product features and benefits
  • Comparisons to similar products or services
  • Pricing information
  • Pros and cons
  • User reviews and testimonials
  • Images, videos, screenshots

3. The Listicle Post

A listicle post is an ordered set of items that can be written about any subject matter. The listicle post is easy, fun, and can be written about any topic or audience.

I am writing this blog post as a listicle post because I listed nine different types of blog posts that you can write for your readers.

You can use it for digital marketing tips, social media strategies, tactics, or other topics. A list of things inside your ultimate buyer's guide can contain a listicle (see Jay's screenshot above).

Finding what readers need is simple with these articles. Just scroll or click on links to navigate the content and discover something interesting.

Listicles are also great for getting noticed in search engines, thanks to their well-structured format.

4. The Product Review Post: The Most Popular Posts

The product review post is one of the most popular blog posts because it allows readers to get an in-depth look at a particular product.

Writing this type of post can be used to promote or sell a product, but it can also be used to provide information about a product.

Product reviews are a fantastic way to build reader confidence. Readers can rely on your opinions and recommendations for other items by providing a truthful and impartial evaluation of any product.

Product reviews help you establish credibility as an expert who knows what will be most beneficial for your audience.

Your product review post should be well-written and informative, providing readers with all the information they need to make an informed decision about the product.

When writing a product review post, it's essential to be honest and objective.

Don't try to sell the reader on the product; instead, provide an accurate description of its features and benefits.

Be sure to include both positive and negative aspects of the development so readers can make an informed decision.

You'll always need to support your claims with evidence; if you say a particular feature is beneficial, please explain why.

If you're promoting a product or not promoting, including a call to action at the end of your review is essential.

Please tell readers where they can purchase the product and encourage them if they are interested.

Key Takeaway:
Always remember that your goal is to provide value for your readers. If your review is helpful and informative, chances are good that people will appreciate it – and maybe even send you a referral and spread the information on social media.

5. The Comparison Post

Comparison posts are a great way to show the differences between two or more products. You can compare different types of cameras, computer software, or even food items.

When you're writing your comparison post, you again will write an honest explanation comparing two different products.

These are all types of comparison articles, which provide the reader with the pros and cons, categories, competitors, and other forms of comparative information.

You will write:

  • Give a detailed explanation of each product's features and benefits.
  • Write objective information about each product.
  • Explain their differences so readers can understand why one product is better.
  • Include why you think one product is better than another (or vice versa).
  • Include images and videos of the products in use.
  • A summary of your findings and an overall recommendation at the end of the post

Example of a Comparison Post

I am writing about two different cameras.

6. The Interview Post

Interviews offer an excellent opportunity to get a closer look at topics from an expert's point of view and add more interest to your content than a plain article.

Video, podcast, and audio recordings are all valid formats. You'll have the chance to tell a fascinating story if you want.

For a narrative-style piece, one method is to jot down responses with the phrase, "I asked name X" or "name said Y." You can write from the first person to the third person point of view. Sometimes it is best to write in the third person asking questions like “How did name feel about X?” - this also frees you from including quotations.

Here are a few examples of interviews to write:

Please keep your questions relevant and focused on the topic at hand.

7. The Question-and-Answer Posts

A Q&A post is a great way to answer questions and give your readers what they want. You should use this format when you want to explain a specific topic more or if you have some advice on solving a problem.

The best Q&A posts are written in question-and-answer format, where the author answers the question herself (or has someone else write it).

For example:

A Blog Post Title:

What's the best way to recover from back pain?

How do I start my blog?

8. The Case Study Posts

Case studies are stories about people who have used your product or service. They can be very effective in showing readers how you can help them, but they also have the added benefit of showing them the value of your product or service. Here's why:

Case studies allow you to show off your expertise in action. If you're an expert in your niche about highly technical stuff, it makes sense that other people would want to learn from what you know.

That's why case studies are vital to any blog post strategy. They show off exactly how much value there is in what you offer. You hope that you can convince more people to buy from you in the future.

9. Personal and Other People's Success Stories Post

The best way to engage your blog readers is by sharing your story or the stories of people who have achieved their goals. Stories of successes in affiliate marketing, other businesses, levels of weight loss, or someone you know who used a product to help build muscle tone.

Even you can share your own success story by including a blog post about how much success you had, how you overcame obstacles to achieve your goals, or how others overcame and achieved theirs. This will help readers understand that they can succeed if they follow your advice or guidance on success in any niche.

Awesome information, Brenda! I see a lot of people say that case studies work, but I'm still confused on how to even start one. I see so many different views on how to do a case study that it has left me with complete confusion.

Either way, I have learned a lot from your post, and I do use some of the methods that you mentioned. So, yes, I agree, they do work. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Have a wonderful weekend ahead...

Case studies require a lot of time to research and collect data. It's almost like storytelling or using a contained story about how a customer overcame their problems using your products or services. It's about data collection and providing concrete evidence, which leads to trust.

The case study can be about SEO. For example, you can include your story about how you got your blog post on page 1 and which position.

You will walk your readers through the process of showing how you did keyword research using screenshots or even videos.

You show research from other competitors on how your article will be at theirs. You will use data from Google Search Console and Google Analytics to provide evidence of affiliate marketing earnings. That using your personal case study.

Jay, our trainer, did one case study about one of his candy-making article got just below Martha Stewart. He tells Martha in the video to get out Martha. Next, discusses with us how to make that article get above Marthas as an example.

To start one just do it. Use your creativity. Or you can opt to use case study of how a particular software you use that you are promoting helps you. It's like a review but it's little data analysis and collection of how it worked.

Keep it simple there is no need to overcomplicate the process.

I will write a case study example article maybe that will help you understand how to do one.

This will take me some time to do because I believe in using real life experiences to show authentic data.

I hope that helps you a little bit to understand what case study is all about.

I am glad you found my posts helpful.

You have a great weekend. 👍🏻

Oh wow, Brenda, this has helped tremendously.

And yes, I did understand a lot better on how to do the case study. As you said, just get out there and do it. Eventually, I will learn what works and what doesn't.

Either way, I know you have a full schedule, so there is no need to write extra articles unless you would like to. I think you did an amazing job explaining in your response.

Thank you soooooo much for your help...You have a great weekend too...

A very complete list of the various article types, Brenda! 👍😎

I like to include a buyers in my listicle (roundup review) posts at the end.

So, “Best X for Y, With Buyer’s Guide.

After I carefully review each product in the list, the buyer’s guide give general tips on what to look for to have a product meet a specific need or avoid a potential pitfall.

It works very well, especially when selling higher ticket items.😎

The best of x or y with a buyer's guide is another good one. Thanks for that tip!

That is a buyer's guide that offers general tips on what to look for and the different things to mention in the article.

Yes, I agree, especially with the high-ticket fancy guitar you are promoting.

Like the camera product review, both cameras are high-ticket items. They cost approximately about 2k, which is excellent for photographers.
