Distraught . Confused . Overjoyed . Confused
As some of you know I have been working my butt off on my golf training aid website. I've worked hard on SEO. Added content. Lengthened posts to make them more user friendly. Added a few inbound links (work in process). And yet I have been lost in the backpages of Google search. No visibility = No traffic = No conversions. So I have been distraught and confused.
Recently I committed to work two paths: 1.) add more content, and 2.) try to figure out social media. So I am working both fronts. As an example I opened up a Google+ account and got a few followers.
This morning I went and checked my page rankings in Jaaxy and I still don't exist for my keywords. On a whim I typed in my main keywords into Google and had a joyful surprise. My Google+ account profile was the third entry on page 1. So, I am surprised and elated!
Then again I am confused. It just seems a little bizarre that a Google+ profile with minimum content and minimum followers is ranking on my keywords whereas my actual website is nonexistent!
Take the wins where you can get them!

It is just really surprising to me. I might have put a little more thought into my profile if I had known. Now, I'm not touching it. I guess I will go on a follower hunt to show activity.
Don't forget to add your Google + I'd to you WA profile.
I would be happy to connect on G+. Just click on the G+ icon on my profile.

I actually don't see a G+ icon on your profile. Where would I find it? And, how do I add one to mine?

Yes, that is often the way. As Google owns G+ they see that content straight away which is why it is a great way, or one of the great way to say to Google, hey here I am. Keep at it.
