My Newbie Approach and 7 Day Reflection of WA

Good Morning,

I have been a member with WA for about a week now and I thought this was a good time to reflect on my time here thus far and share a few of my personal insights.

As mentioned in my profile, I am currently unemployed due to a company restructuring. This is not the first time I have been through a sudden change in employment. My last one was around the time of the US housing crash.

Fortunately, I love to think strategically and solve problems and this is an exciting and challenging opportunity to use those skills to discover an income solution.

The last time I was unemployed I turned to the Internet to find a way to make money. I spent about a year or so trying all kinds of money making businesses and schemes and learning how to market online.

I did make some money, but I also spent a lot and I learned a lot. Ultimately, I did decide to get a job.

Now that I am back as "Free Man", I decided to take another look at the Internet opportunty again, which has led me to WA.

This time around, I enter the evaluation of opportunities with a far greater understanding of business and people and a personal awareness of my abilities and how I can help others.

Basically, I conclude that I was not ready for success in 2008; wow, 10 years ago!

Today, as I go through the WA training, I am seeing things from a bigger plan perspective and I have an accelerated learning position from my previous online experiences.

I did struggle with a niche a bit in the beginning as I am a generalist, not a specialist.

I made my list of interests and hobbies and did some Google Trend searches, which gave terrible results. I was deflated and did not touch WA for about two days.

During this time I decided to really think about my skills, offline ventures I am working on and how I could help others being a business generalist.

My two offline ventures are a real estate development and a book I have been writing off and on for about two years.

I then started thinking about how I could align these fairly different ventures, so I could maximize my efforts to move them forward to completion with a focussed approach. I came up with a possible idea that I thought might work.

I decided to come back to WA and finish the first training module without getting wrapped up in completing the assignments, so I could focus on the big picture and not the logistics.

My turning point was when I came to the Jaxxy lesson and I entered some of my keywords that I identified previously with the Google Keyword Tool.

NOTE: I want to further examine the finding a niche training module in the future as I believe I can drastically improve the process. I also want to note that I feel improvements can be made to keep trainees on task better. There are several instances between the lessons, emails, and sponsor contact where you get kinda lost on what to do next.

I was excited about the results and instantly had a great deal more optimism. I kept my approach of formalizing my business model in my mind as I filled in my gaps of knowledge and how WA features would assist .

I typed up my About Me and my first post in Word to establish some tangible progress. I reserved a Domain name and become a Premium Member. I continued on with the Phase 2 training, which I completed today.

I am going to move on to Part 3 of the training in the same manner and revising my Word documents as I feel comfortable with Wordpress. The reason I am doing it this way is I want the big picture to be clear on what and how I am going to build out my site to eliminate re-work (a form of waste in Lean Thinking) and I will be better equipped to map out the features and set-up of my site.

My General Plan: My website is called The Help Me Network (thehelpmenetwork.com). My WA purpose is to develop an affiliate marketing business helping people in several niches, learning how to better conduct local marketing for my real estate development (cottagegrovemanitoba.com) and establishing a membership site to gather like minded people to influence change in our offline lives and communities by using my book as the foundation for awareness, knowledge and action.

Oh and my picture for this blog posts represents locking your yourself in to soak it all in before making final decisions about what to do.

Have a great day,

Braden

Hi Braden,
Thanks for the well written blog post.
I believe you have advantage that you have been in this line before and it looks like you are a good planner. Your niche ideas sounds great. Affiliate marketing is really working well if the primary objective is to help others with issues they may have related to the niche you are targeting.
All the best.

Joe:)

Thank you Joe for your feedback, appreciate it

Read my bio, you and I come from a very similar background in that we both had hardship in 2008 and sought the Internet, and now after 10 years we once again are seeking the good life. Only, I've been using WA training longer and have already amassed wealth and an amazing family I provide for, but I am confident that because we're a cut from the same cloth, you will get to your light!

Thanks for reading Marshall and introducing yourself. I stopped by your profile and made a comment.
