Is it necessary to write content that has little SEO potential?

I want to write a page about why cooking is necessary for weight loss but to my surprise, no one is really searching "cooking" and "weight loss" in the same keyword, and the competition is really high too. So needless to say this page will be invisible in the search engine, but I feel like it's necessary for me to talk about on my site. Have you ever had this dilemma?

I think that could be a very interesting site. Follow what you are passionate about. You will be able to share a lot of information with your readers. Some may only want your recipes, others the advice on how to cook for weight loss. As I understand it, Your keywords will be different for your articles depending on what information you are sharing.
Best wishes

No but I agree it is an interesting dilemma. Many people are looking for raw food as the best solution for many weight problems. Wonder if this could be an influence.

Thanks for your input :)

Yes, and I would create the page anyway.

It is good practice to target keywords prior to writing content, as you were doing here, but not every page HAS to have a target keyword.

When you create new content, keywords will naturally be written within your content.

Targeting a keyword may provide best results (in terms of ranking), but don't hold back on your writing or providing helpful information to your visitors within your website.

If you can find a keyword, cool. If not, write naturally :)

This is not to dismiss keywords, which is taught here in the training. Low hanging fruit keywords is what will bring in visitors to your website in the first place.

Again, not every page has to focus on a keyword.

Thanks for your input, Jason :)

There has to be a keyword/phrase that meets the criteria we all look for.

What about specific ingredients used in all good cooking?
How about special pans, pots or processes or techniques?

There simply HAS to be something that you can focus on that can attract attention to your site.

Look through your cookbooks and come up with a few of these and, if you focus on a few of these, you can optimize on those that even have a QSR of around 100 or more...

Thanks, I will try that out :)
