Zero Rank at Google, I do not Feel Motivated
I have spent 6 months and uncounted hours on my website. Three months after publishing, Google ranks me ---- zero!
C'mon, Google just do not do this. I thought you was my friend.
Point is - do not rely on Google to drive (potential) customers to your website.
The famous Google algorithms make Google VERY conservative.
So let's be radical and subvert that.
G+ & twitter. Drive that social content to your website.

I agree - relying on Mr Google alone can be soul destroying. You are right using a combination of traffic generating tactics - social media definitely being at the top of the list.
I do believe in the power of perseverance though. We so often stop or give up just before we were about to be successful. A good friend of mine who made a lot of money through MLM used to joke that his 'overnight success' was actually ten years in the making!
