The Wisest Wise Men - A Christmas Truth

It's that time of the year again. Christmas is soon upon us and many of us have heard the story of the virgin birth of Jesus Christ in a manger.

Christmas is the largest holiday that is mainly built around a somewhat fictitious religious story and propped up by a huge marketing money maker.

I'm a Christian and I am not saying the birth of Jesus was fake. However, religion has changed a lot of truth for its own personal and political gain.

It is no secret that Jesus wasn't born on December 25th. Most likely sometime in the middle to end of September, based on biblical facts.

However, my focus of this post is to give you a niche idea based on the truth that many people, including many Christians, have not figured out yet.

GOLD, FRANKINCENSE AND MYRRH

The story goes that the three Wise Men, also known as The Magi, followed a bright star in the sky that lead them to a manger where Jesus was born.

They came to worship and honor the King and Savior. They presented Mary and Joseph, the parents of Jesus, Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.

Look at that picture above. Does anything look out of place? You have Gold Alloy and two different Spices. Metal and two spices? That's weird!

I realize people would think, as did I for most of my life, that Gold Alloy was given to baby Jesus because he was the coming prophesied King.

Every King in those days and even today, has a vast amount of Gold. However, why pair that with two spices used by royalty for medicinal purposes?

MANY THEOLOGIANS NOW BELIEVE THE GOLD WAS TURMERIC

There is growing evidence by Christian theologians and Middle East historians, that the Gold in the trio of gifts to baby Jesus was actually Turmeric.

This makes a lot more sense when you consider these facts. The Magi were travelers who used spices as money for various purposes.

This was a time during the Spice Trade and that area of Israel was at the end of one of the Trade Routes from the Far East places such as India.

Much of the economic prosperity of the time was grown by the exchange of precious and hard to find spices cultivated in the East.

Turmeric was actually called the "Gold" spice. It was worth more than its weight in gold and it was also used as a form of money by royalty.

TURMERIC, FRANKINCENSE & MYRRH HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

Not only are these three spices considered luxurious among the population in the region at that time, they also had spiritual and medicinal uses.

Did you know that all three of these spices have potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic, skin healing, and immune supporting properties?

This makes these three spices the wisest natural and most expensive healing spices for a woman who has just given birth to Jesus the future King.

You could definitely say that these were the wisest wise men that knew exactly what the mother of the new King of His people needed at that time.

It was close to impossible for anyone who didn't have great amounts of money and connections, to bring those healing spices to Mary.

THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT NATURAL HEALING NICHE

If you are in or considering an all-natural health & wellness niche, these three popular spices in today's market, have a key significance to the past.

It is a Christmas story of the birth of Jesus that many have heard of, just not in this way. Using them separately or blended together is a Win-Win.

If you should want to promote these three spices, you can focus your niche on any or all of the medicinal properties of these royal spices.

The spice turmeric alone has a growing body of evidence that it even kills cancer cells and the other two also have anti-cancer properties.

What do you think? Does this sound like an interesting niche or maybe a new angle to a niche about any one of these spices? Leave your comments below.

Hi Robert
Let me start by saying I'm a pastor, have been for over 20 years.

I have come across many people who put up statements that Jesus wasn't born on Christmas day, they are entirely correct,

1 - Why Christmas Day

In 800 AD, at the coronation of Charlemagne, the king of the Franks as Holy Roman emperor, the catholic pope changed Michaelmas day to Christmas day (a power move on their part to control the narrative, and as the church was dominant and influential power of that era, everybody followed suit even to today.

That Christmas has been commercialized is also true, even the attempts to X Christ out of Christmas, a trend that many who say the believe in Christ also follow.

That the time of His birth coincided with the Jewish winter which is around October is also correct. Some people don't realize that God always follows His Plan and keeps His Word. So in accordance with His word, Jesus's birth would have coincided with the feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot (Feast of Booths), a joyful, seven-day autumn harvest festival commemorating the Israelites' forty years of wandering in temporary shelters after the Exodus from Egypt, symbolizing God's protection and provision. Not autumn festival coinciding again with the shepherds watch their flocks

2- What people overlook

But, Robert, everybody , seem to overlook one thing - "God said in His only His plans come to pass on this earth - lets ignore the distractions. The fact is that Jesus was born in a manger at Bethlehem, the Roman census that the Roman emperor Augustus had conducted from 6 BC, confirms this.

3 - What's really important

The birth of the Christ is really what is important, that He was born that wretch like me could have access to eternal life and any body else who wants it. It an open invitation to all, but always their choice.

4 - The three Wise Men (The Magi)

The second thing is the Magi or as we called them the three Wise Men. Note that nowhere in the bible ever said that there were only 3 men, in reality it could of been many more, and most likely .

Who were the Magi

Now who were the Magi - They were wise men, likely Persian (Iranian) priests or astrologers skilled in astronomy, who followed a star to find and pay homage to the newborn Jesus, presenting him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, as described in the Gospel of Matthew.

Traditionally depicted as three kings, their origins, number, and specific identity remain mysterious, but they represent the recognition of Jesus by the Gentiles (non-Jews) as the promised One (look ay Genesis 3, when God said '. and the seed of the woman will crush your (satan) head. - the promise of salvation to any who wanted it)

- Digging into their past

However if one digs a bit deeper you would find mention of the Magi being one of the seven tribes of the Medes under Cyrus the Great in the then Persian Empire, hence Cyrus's understanding of Jewish history and his setting the free.

And again if you dig further you would find that the Magi are the descendants of the Northern Israelite kingdom when the Assyrian king Shalmaneser V deported the northern tribes of Israel (the "Ten Lost Tribes") Samaria around 722 BCE, with his successor Sargon II completing the exile, scattering Israelites to places like Mesopotamia, Media then called Elam (modern Iraq/Iran), an influential region near Mesopotamia.

5 - Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh

The gold, frankincense, and myrrh, gifts from the Magi to baby Jesus, symbolize His identity as King (gold), God/Priest (frankincense), and Man/Savior (myrrh), foretelling His earthly reign, divine worship, and sacrificial death for humanity's sins, representing a complete homage to Christ's nature and mission.

The significance of Each Gift:

- Gold represented Jesus' royalty and kingly status, as gold is a precious metal given to kings, it acknowledged Him as the King of the Jews and of the world.

- Frankincense: A fragrant incense used in temple worship, symbolizing Jesus' divinity and priestly role, as it was offered to God.

- Myrrh: An expensive spice used for embalming and anointing the dead, symbolizing Jesus' humanity, suffering, death, and eventual resurrection, foreshadowing His sacrifice.

I heard many version of the Christmas story, all seem to not take into consideration - Why God did what he did.
His answer has always been sitting in Genesis 3, that the seed of the woman (Eve) by crushing satan's head will offer the humanity the gift of everlasting life.

An open invitation to all.

I trust that this, my simple explanation helps you appreciate and see Christmas in a different light

Cheers Paul ^_^

There are several clues in scripture that confirm December 25th is not his birth date. One less than obvious clue is the birth of John the Baptist which scripture tells us was 6 months older than Jesus.

When you study Jewish traditions of the timeline that priests served in the temple system, Zechariah ended his time in the temple on the first of June. At some point before the end of June, Elizabeth became pregnant.

In regards to Mary we read in Luke 1:35-37, "And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible."

If Elizabeth became pregnant with John the Baptist around the middle to end of June, six months in would be middle to end of December, just when Mary becomes pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Mary stays with Elizabeth for three months until John is born which is middle to end of March. Now Mary is in her third month, add six more months and you have Jesus being born sometime around the middle to the end of September.

Many people operate from the human view point, I have always tended to look at things with the question - What's God doing.

It's not my place (and never will be) to tell people what to believe , or who to follow.

I know that I wanted to know for myself, not take what other people and their doctrines wanted me to believe.

I also did something that most people don't do - 'I asked the holy Spirit himself'

I believe in Jesus, both as man and God himself. I researched for myself. I responded to your post because I recognized that your information was based on what other peoples research. I may be wrong, but I did get the impression that you had done your own research.

You are a good man with a genuine desire to know the truth. All i did was offer you additional information.
You will always be the one who chooses your own path and FYI that is the true meaning of the words when created man '..and let him (meaning man) have dominion.. (decisional authority to choose his own path, whether for good or for evil.

You (Robert) and only you are responsible for how your life is lived and its outcome.

I trust you choose well.

1

I always do my own research and I always let the Holy Spirit guide me in Wisdom & Understanding. I've been studying prophecy for the past 6 years and the Lord has revealed much to me.

I have much more peace, joy, humility, love, the fruits of the Holy Spirit and lately, a couple of the gifts as well. I'm in the Bible daily. I am always praying to know more and I love what I'm learning.

1

Good, that's probably why the Holy Spirit allowed me to open up to you.
My ministry is deliverance, so my orientation is a bit different. You are on the right track Cheers,
Let's leave the Holy Spirit to do His thing in both our lives.
Cheers ^_^

I appreciate when you said this in the original response, "So in accordance with His word, Jesus's birth would have coincided with the feast of Tabernacles."

When studying prophecy, in addition to learning what all of the symbolism means, you learn the importance of numbers. The number 7 has significant divine worship meaning.

I refreshed my knowledge of the Feast of Tabernacles and re-learned it is the 7th and last feast, it happens in the 7th month (Tishrei) and for 7 days from the end of Sept to beginning of Oct.

This further solidifies that the divine birth would take place at this time and still be six months after the birth of John the Baptist at the end of March. God always seems to follow a plan of 7.

Hello Robert

As I said earlier, that there had to be a reason why the Holy Spirit allowed me to discourse with you.

Let me repeat something to you that I have learnt the hard way. "The only PLAN that comes to fruition in this world is God's plan, Everything else is just NOISE.

I learned very early to pay attention to the Holy Spirit, I also learned to let Him lead, I'm not perfect and I am very rebellious and have to repent often. He is always speaking, however very few people ever really listen, too busy being distracted by the noise. Yet He continues speaking to those willing to listen. ^_^

Consider this also, if Jesus was born on the feast of Tabernacles, the 7th feast, which happens in the 7th month of the Jewish calendar for 7 days and 7 is the number of completion.

Then what we have is 777 the number of complete completion. This tells me that Jesus is and will always be the FINAL SOLUTION.
Therefore, ask yourself this question - Why do people need to check or look elsewhere for fulfillment.

Thanks for sharing ('vaya con Dios')

Cheers!

I missed on fact, the 3 7's signify one other fact - the 3 7's indicate agreement with the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit. That this event was in perfect alignment with God's plan,

You may not recognize this right away, but consider these events
1 - At Jesus baptism - Jesus presenting himself for ritual cleansing, the voice from heaven say that this is my beloved son... and the dove flying over the baptism (the agreement of the 3-in-one.
2 - At creation The father present, the Holy Spirit hovering over the water and the Voice, the Word speaking ( again unity of the 3.)
3 - The Creation of Man, the voice saying let us make man..., the hands of the Father forming man from the dust and the Holy Spirit breathing life into man.
I every event (what God considers major events) we witness the presence of the 3-in-one.

I just thought I should share this with you. Cheers ^_^

LOL, I was just having a discussion early today about numbers 2 and 3 above. The number 7 and 777 appear multiple times in the Bible, especially in Revelation. The very first time three sevens are mentioned are in Genesis 2:1-3 when God created the 7th Day Sabbath.

"Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made."

Have a good night Paul.

Hello Robert (its evening here)
You want my honest opinion, I believe God is preparing you for something, it would have to be something great.

I don't know what God has planned for you, but I think that it will be epic. The one thing I can say to you is in whatever God has planned for you, always remember that it is His plan, He is just using your hands.

I believe just used me to get your attention. Cheers ^_^

As much as I hate to admit it (LOL), you're right on all counts here. It is truly awful what Christmas has become today. Stores are ALREADY on to Valentines Day!!!

While I don't like the taste of tumeric, I understand it's value and try to incorporate it in my diet as much as possible. The other 2 are a given!

Merry Christmas to you.

It's astonishing just how commercialized Christmas and every major holiday has become. It's like the corporations want to suck our finances dry.

I remember a few weeks ago I was driving through the neighborhood and people had their houses decorated for Christmas already. It was in early November!

For me and my family we treat Christmas, since it's the only holiday we can all be together, as a family gathering without all the gifts. Being together is a gift.

As for Turmeric, I'm not a big fan of the taste either, but when I mix it in with other foods it's not bad. For those times I want straight turmeric, I take them in capsules.

May you and yours have a Merry Christmas too!

Robert

This post is a gem- thank you for weaving history, healing, and storytelling into one powerful thread. The way you reframed the gift of the Magi as medical treasures is both bold and beautifully grounded. That insight about turmeric being the “ gold” for ancient world ? It doesn’t just inform, it transforms how we see tradition, trade, and wellness.

1

You are welcome and thank you for your excellent explanation of what I was trying to do in this post. Combining all of those teaching aspects around the central theme or character, being Turmeric and its healing benefits.
