As for your questions having a detailed list I feel is the best way when selecting a Niche

Start with your hobbies or the things that are closest to your heart make a list as you said perhaps 10 then bring it down to about 2 or three from there think of how that could appeal to your audience coming to your site.

That would be your Niche

Keep going forward and always believe in yourself and all you do.
You are special and remember and say that to yourself as well.
