Treat you're website like it's a baby

What I mean by "treat your website like a baby" is; the more attention you give your blog, the better it will become. If you nurture the website, it will grow to become something so great that you won't have to do as much to it. Sure you'll still be writing, responding to comments, etc, but eventually it will grow in popularity. The more people that subscribe, the easier it will become even more popular by word of mouth.

You'll also learn along the way, which will make every aspect of the website easier to maintain.

A baby needs to be fed, burped, bathed, and played with(among many other things), but as he or she grows older, the less you need to do for them.

I'm also saying that building a website, just like the time it takes a baby turn into an adult, takes time. A baby doesn't suddenly turn into an independent man/woman overnight and neither will your blog.

I'm not sure if any of this is really making sense, but I just wanted to post this for new WAers.

Hi Bonnie! Always backup the baby. How do I spank my website?

1

Haha, I guess post as much content as you can?

Make sure to not drop the baby or lose it. Devestating results. In this case, I would avoid a babysitter.

Hmm...yes, I could see how those can be bad. Thank you for stopping by my blog and giving me a laugh.

But what I really fear is when it goes through the rebelious stage. I don't know how that is going to work out with the website.

Well, I think what would happen with the website is sometimes, no matter how hard you try, there just won't be traffic. Even with the best SEO and blog post content. Or, you may try to write and you get writers block. Who knows what could happen.

And then you cry when it runs away.

Yes, but then it will do something nice for you when you least expect it.

How about we just treat our babies good to avoid all of that.

Sounds great!

Excellent post!
