Are you stuck?

I have made the same mistake and have wasted a bunch of time. I spent a lot of time researching areas I knew nothing about, searching for what I thought were the best key words and hoping to drive some killer traffic to my site. Guess what, I got NOTHING! In fact, I had even gotten to the point that I really wanted to just throw in the towel and my dream of ever making money online. I was totally bummed, discouraged and pissed that I wasted a ton of money and time. I think I spent more time researching and second guessing myself than actually doing any work. I felt like the little kid at the pool that had been trying to get the courage up to jump off the diving board for the first time. Stand next to the board, walk away, go up and touch the board and walk away. I know you have been there too.
It wasn't until I decided to just say skip the niche research, skip the keyword searching and just shoot from the hip and see what happens. Guess what, I was not only getting articles written that seemed to be of good quality but I was also getting traffic. Was I making a ton of dough? No, But just knowing that I was actually getting traffic and people were actually reading, people that I will probably never meet, were reading my articles. Believe it or not it is a great feeling of accomplishment!
Now I'm not saying to just forget about what it is that you are learning about niche research, keyword ranking etc. We can all get stuck in an endless frustrating circle of what should I write about, are my keywords correct? If you are stuck, just put something down. Nothing says you can't go back and make changes. Get that feeling that you are doing something. I have spent hours trying to write an article and ending up with nothing, instead now I'm getting traffic, I'm creating articles and little by little I'm applying what I'm learning. It's been a great feeling of accomplishment I only wish I would have done so sooner.
So take the time and throw something down. See what comes of it. You're not going to fail. Just like learning to ride a bike, your going to fall, scrape a knee but just get back up and go! the important thin here is you are writing from the heart about your passion. Let it fly!

Such good advice. You have to trust your instincts. We're not robots, after all. Just write about what you know best and love. Do kw research on your topic, not Google's. If you don't do that, you'll get bored and walk away. Good article!

Sometimes a hybrid approach works. Do a bit of keyword research to see what is out there and has good rankings. Then go a head and just write. With the keywords in the back of your mind you can work them into your content. You are still writing for yourself but since you know the keywords that you might use you may find that you can include them as you write.
