Are You A Victim, Survivor Or Conquerer?

Is it fair to say most people have been all three? No one wants to be a victim, but hasn't just about everyone been victimized by something at some point in their lives?

Could have been financial. A friend or relative asked to borrow money and never paid you back. That's happened to me more than once!

Or worse, they asked you to invest in a can't miss business opportunity? Not only did it miss, you ended up losing all your money.

Even if the scenarios above never happened to you, we have all read or heard about some huge pyramid schemes or scams that victimized thousands of people.

Perhaps you were victimized by a crime? A thief stole your wallet or purse. Someone bounced a check made out to you or your company. That's also happened to me more than once!

Have you gotten through life so far without being a victim my hat is off to you. You have led a charmed life so far. Sometimes being a risk taker, you become a victim of your own stunts. Just ask Evel Knievel!

If you never heard of him, he was a fearless daredevil and stuntman who did all kinds of crazy jumps on a motorcycle. He allegedly had over 400 bone fractures to his body that put him in the Guinness Book of World Records! Talk about a victim!

But did he stay a victim? When you were victimized did you continue with that victim state of mind? I know I didn't. I became a survivor. I survived whatever made me a victim.

What changed to make me a survivor instead of a victim? One element would be time. "Time heals all wounds." We have all heard that cliche. I think the more important element would be mindset.

Think about this for a second. What pops into your head the minute you realize you're a victim? Why me? Why does this ALWAYS happen to me? What did I do? What did I do wrong? Poor me.

It's really a built in default mechanism in your brain. You somehow blame yourself for what just happened and feel guilty. It really doesn't make any sense does it?

You are walking down the street minding your business and a purse snatcher grabs your bag and runs away and somehow it's your fault? If I just stayed home today this would not have happened. If I took the train instead of walking this wouldn't have happened. If I left my home 5 minutes earlier this wouldn't have happened.

All of those rationalizations are perhaps true. But this event was going to happen anyway. Maybe not to you, but to somebody. Why?

This is what the purse snatcher does for a living. So someone was going to be a victim on this day regardless of what you were going to do.

"If I stayed home today this would not have happened." Well, yes it would have it just would have happened to someone else. "If I took the train this wouldn't have happened." Really? You don't think there are purse snatchers on the train? It could have happened to you riding the train just as easily."If I left my home 5 minutes earlier this wouldn't have happened."How do you know? You really don't.

This event was going to happen anyway. It unfortunately happened to you. You can't plan when you are not going to be a victim it's impossible.

So after all this happens to you really in just a few seconds what happens next? You assess damages. My money is in there, my credit cards, personal items, etc.

Your mind immediately goes to damage control. You change from blaming yourself to I'm not going to be further victimized by this petty thief right? The first steps to becoming a survivor!

You realize the cash is gone but you never kept a lot on you realizing something like this could happen right? Good for you. You cancel your credit cards and call the monitoring company to be on the lookout for identity theft right?

Hey the thief can keep the cash and I'll have to get a new handbag but that's all their getting from me. You are in survivor mode.

Surviving is a way of life. You made it and sometimes just barely. After all, what's the alternative to not surviving?

You may have survived a car accident, an animal bite, a skiing accident, a freak incident or even something less severe. A test in school, an inspection, a written warning instead of a ticket.

What it means is you overcame, you persevered, you fought through it you SURVIVED!

In a fairly short period of time, you have changed your mindset from innocent victim to survivor. Besides, all time is just a measurement anyway. Time measures the period you went from being a victim to being a survivor that's all.

I don't want to be just a survivor in life I want to be a conquerer. How do I become a conquerer?

Why is the lion the king of the jungle? He is a conquerer.

The lion has the ability to overcome, surmount, and defeat any challenge placed before them. The other animals know this. The ones that don't....well.....they become victims and don't survive.

But there are niches even in the jungle! There are other animals that survive but become conquerers in their niche: the tiger, the elephant, the cheetah. More than likely they won't defeat the lion but they are conquerers in their own niche.

The minute you decide to follow your belief, remove all self-doubt(I don't think I can do this replaced with I KNOW I can do this)

This taps right into your potential. Why? Now you are in the right mindset. Do you think the lion has any self-doubt or fear? Absolutely not.

After you have tapped into your potential you commit to growth and becoming what you want to be. Which is what?
Anything you want actually.

It's all about mindset. Why are so many of us victims and survivors, and so few of us conquerers?

The conquerers are always in a cycle that increases: 1.Belief level increases 2. Potential increases 3. Call to action increases 4. What they become increases

This cycle is continuous. The cycle is the exact opposite for victims and survivors 1.Belief level decreases 2. Potential decreases 3. Call to action decreases 4. What they become decreases. There is too much to overcome or is that just the way you think? If it is..... you need to change that process immediately if you want to be a conquerer

In conclusion, life is challenging and there is much to overcome. Success is not a given, but having the right mindset to become a conquerer is. Without it, you'll always be a survivor, or worse a victim if you have that negative mindset. The few who understand this reality, (like the conquerers) never cave to the negativity. They are resolute in their belief level. Those who embrace the mindset of a conquerer become the lion in the jungle. What do you think?Have you been a conquerer in life? Or just a victim and survivor? Thank you for reading. All the best!
