Forums on blogs?

I was reading a Forbes article on getting traffic to blogs. One of the suggestions was to put a forum on the blog, it encourages participation and interaction. Has anyone done that? If so, did it bring in more traffic and what was your experience like?

I haven't done it either, but I've heard that it's good for traffic. What would you use to do that? I'm sure there's a plug-in, but is there another way?
I haven't had time to investigate, but that's one of the reasons I haven't tried it yet Carla. By the way, congrats on the Ambassadorship!

I would eventually like to, but I don't think I have enough traffic. I just released my book though and that's what should start building my traffic, so I'm curious to see what people say in response to your question because I want to know how they set it up.
