I like so many of you struggle with the personal accomplishment, I set so many goals for myself that sometimes is feels like I never accomplish anything in a day.

Accomplishment

Google dictionary describes the word as such:

ac·com·plish·ment/əˈkämpliSHmənt/Learn to pronouncenoun

  1. something that has been achieved successfully."the reduction of inflation was a remarkable accomplishment"synonyms:achievement, act, deed, exercise, exploit, performance, attainment, effort, feat, maneuver, operation, move, stunt, stratagem, coup, masterstroke, stroke of genius, triumph"the reduction of inflation was a remarkable accomplishment"
    • the successful achievement of a task."the accomplishment of planned objectives"
    • an activity that a person can do well, typically as a result of study or practice."long-distance running was another of her accomplishments"

Setting Goals & Accomplishing Them

I am great at setting goals, however I am not so great at accomplishing the goals and expectations I set for my self.

The biggest reason for this is not because I set unrealistic goals, but because I try to jam pack so many in one single day that I leave very little time to actually accomplish them all!

During my past term in College I constantly failed to time manage my goals, which quickly led to burnout, frustration and unnecessary stress! I have since learned my lesson, and have been working on a few ways to set goals, I not only accomplish my goals now, but I feel accomplished. My stress levels are down, and I am managing to find more time for myself now.

The biggest trick to setting goals and achieve them is to be easy on yourself. I know just how hard this can be, especially with a busy schedule, family and prior engagements that need to all be met in one single day.

My Strategies

- Have a day planner by your bedside table, check it at night before bed, get an idea of what your day looks like and plan your day accordingly. If you have more than 3 things on the go already, don't add anything else to that list!

- Wake up, take the first 5-10 minutes of your day just for yourself! Practice Yoga, or meditation if you would like to, otherwise just sit up and breath. Once you've had some time to wake up and be one with the morning, check your day planner again just to refresh yourself and avoid forgetting something.

- Enjoy breakfast! This is the most important meal of the day!

- Take on one of your goals!

- Take time to BREATH and relax after you've accomplished your first goal, We need to remember to reward ourselves and be proud of the accomplishment. This sets the mood for the rest of the day on a more positive happier note.

- Tackle another goal

- Take another break, BREATH and relax.

- You guessed it, tackle that last goal!

- Reward your self again because you are AMAZING!

Often times, I find that I tackle my goals early enough in the day that I still have plenty of time to do other small things that I hadn't planned on accomplishing throughout the day.

Why it's important to reward your self

Far too often I find that we are so busy buzzing around like bee's that we don't take the time to just breath, and feel positive for the small things we accomplish each and every single day.

It is so important that we reflect on the positive things we do, far too often we focus on our negative aspects, which in turn leads us to feel down and under accomplished.By taking just 5 minutes to acknowledge your hard work and accomplishments you set yourself up for more success in what ever you're doing.

Taking 5 minutes also allows your brain and body to relax, and reduces stress.

Remember

You are an amazing person who accomplishes more than you realize in a day, the mere fact that you get out of bed every day is an accomplishment! Celebrate that!

Celebrate every single little thing and you will find yourself feeling happier, stronger, more energized and ready to smash those goals you set out of the park!

Yes Brianne, you need to be happy and enjoy what you do, and take satisfaction from every achievement, Alan

Well done on this post Brianne. It is a welcome reminder to us all to take a small break occasionally.

Good post to remind us that we are often punished for our bad deeds but seldom rewarded for our good deeds.
I like your ideas on goals and rewarding ourselves, will try them thx ! 😎👌

Great blog. Sometimes when we set goals we forget to allow for 'me' time. Jim
