How do I transfer my domain name from fastdomain.com to WA?
Transferring domain name to wa?
How do I transfer my domain name from fastdomain.com to WA?
I have a website hosted by BlueHost, and I would like to transfer it to WA. Can someone tell me the steps to do so?
Thanks,
Alan
If the site is a Wordpress site, the steps are as follows:
1) Back up your content on BlueHost.
2) Update your DNS records at your domain registrar to:
ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com
Note: At this point, your site will no longer be accessible.
3) Go through the 'create a website' process here at WA, selecting your domain and a theme.
4) Restore your backup to your newly created website.
IF you are using a cpanel web page, you cannot transfer the content here directly. You will have to recreate your content within the Wordpress framework. In that case, save the text and images to your computer so it will be faster to recreate your content once you have created your Wordpress shell here at WA.
