Catch the wave of change
I'm working on the first lesson in the SWAG challenge. Part of that first lesson is Kyle explaining how he uses Site Content. His instruction has changed how I approach writing.
First of all, he uses Jaxxy to find keyword phrases to inspire his writing. You will never be at a loss for words if your make a list of key word phrases. (long-tailed keywords), I was writing my article and then finding a keyword to add to the title and first paragraph. Starting with the keyword as inspiration for the post make much more sense.
Next he outlines his article in Site Content. The outline is incorporated into the blog post he is writing and it has totally changed the way I approach writing an article. Rather than trying to describe the process, I will use an example. This is the result of one hour of work:
Catch the wave of change.
World of change
globalization
the gig economy
automation
impacts of technology
Living with purpose
The importance of having a calling
Blue Zone longevity research
What do your want to do with your life
The importance of knowing the most important thing in your life.
Overcoming procrastination
The importance of a mastermind group.
The daily review
Understand your feelings.
Know what your value in your life
Values guide your purpose
Purpose guides the niche your want to work in.
The jack-of-all trades and the master of 1. Focus on a narrow niche and build on it.
Our Responsibility to ourselves, our family and to others.
Ourselves
our family
to others
locally
globally
Managing your life and career
Be a futurist
the importance of branding.
What employers look for.
creativity
ability to work with teams
knowledge of internet collaboration
Internet marketing
Polymath
Future safe careers
Using the framework I developed all I have to do is write the blog post. I know the key points I want to cover. Each of the bolded lines are headers in my article.
Do your know about headers? Search engines use headers to know what your post is about. Headers are important because they not only let your readers skim your post effectively they also let the search engines know how to index your post correctly.

This technique is not a traditional outline. It is a way to layout the keypoints of your post and by using "place holders" to document the key points in each major categoy you want to write about.
You can start the SWAG challenge at any time. I'm personally playing catchup. I think the training is very worthwhile.
Kyle calls the outline place holders. I find this process a fast and easy way to pull all my thoughts together in a n organized way.
Site Content has been incorporated into writing blog posts. When you click on the pencil to write your post your editor will be Site Content. Grrreeeaat.

Thanks for the update Bill, a good idea to do an outline + using keywords.
