LEVEL 2 COMPLETE—Straight to the Heart
It's February 25, 2019 and after two months I have completed Level 2
However, I have missed the Valentine's Day scheduled launch of my business, SilverLife-Business50plus.com
My business is a huge undertaking. I haven't ever been able to think small—I think massive, and I've been trying to do a million things at once—can you relate?
I'm building a membership website with all the bells and whistles.
Somebody tell me WHY I can't just put together a simple one page lead magnet to sell affiliate products?
Anyway, I figured that I'd probably sail through the training in short order. I completely underestimated the task, the struggles, and the learning—BUT—I went ALL IN. And I'm going to stay with this program if it takes me years because the older I get, the more I'll need that affiliate income trickling in! so NO PRESSURE PEEPS!!!
Anywho, I've managed to build TWO websites.
I've learned WAY MORE than I bargained for.
I haven't cried but I have called out the WordPress team, the SiteRubix info, and my fellow Wealthy Affiliate colleagues to release me from CRAZYLAND, the prison of my feeble brain.
I've learned a cool site builder add-on called Elementor that lets me work in WordPress so that it is more like one of my graphic design programs (AAAAHHHHH—magic).
I've worked my tail off, published a bunch of content, searched a boatload of images, tagged till... well, you know, commented, blogged, posted, searched, YouTubed my head off, WP-Beginner for days on end...
People, I deserve an Oscar for my hard work!!!
But, I want to give you a huge food for thought here at the end of my short saga.
Here's the story: One day, I decided to add a feature to my site that would allow other bloggers to post onto my site. I decided to not worry about letting people join--they could join on their own, right???? Let me tell you, I was so absolutely delighted the morning when I found there were around 50 people joined overnight. Um, I hadn't even hooked up with Google yet. Hmmm. These names on the emails were funky.
No, NOT EVEN ONE was a real new member. My disappointment turned to red hot poker ANGER. I had been SPAMMED in SPADES.
I put in a call for help.
It nearly killed me to go into my site, change the preferences so that I would have to approve every member, and every post, and on top of that, I had to DELETE 50 beautiful new FAKE members.
The moral of the story is, keep SECURITY tight people.
Back up your site regularly.
Use anti-spam and anti-bot plugins to protect your site, your sanity, and your content. [I used Akismet Anti-Spam and WPBruiser]
Well, my goals going forward are to forget about deadlines like proverbial HEART'S DAY and STICK WITH THE TRAINING TILL I'M DONE and only then run off and learn other stuff elsewhere (cause I'll probably be learning off this site for years!).

You might get some feedback through the Feedback feature under websites on the left of the screen. Many people will not respond when you ask here because technically it is against the rules for you to ask.
Oh wow--I know we can't promote, but getting site feedback is part of the Level 2 course and I have been on there twice trying to complete that feature, but with no luck.
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up--and apologies for the goof.
