Niche? I got you covered, finally!
So niche selection has always been an issue for me. I have had several attempt at trying to start a business online and when it comes to selecting a niche or direction, I always fail. I always end up going with the "popular vote" instead of passion.
Tell me if this sounds familiar.
1. Start with incredible excitement about "this being the time that works"
2. Sit down and begin to "try and write down my hobbies" so that I can find a niche
3. Either I get stuck and can't come up with any viable hobbies that I am super passionate about OR I do research on the few hobbies I do come up with and they look really bad numberswise
4. Start hitting Google with the "best niches" or "popular niche for 20XX"(input year)
5. Pick a niche that "sounds like a cool one that I would really like" (that really means this one is going to be so HUGE I am going to make a TON of money)
6. Hit a wall at this point and spend so much time "thinking about what to write" I never write a word OR actually start and get a few articles in only to peter out hopelessly and BOOM the dream is dead
7. Rinse repeat
Sound familiar?
Yeah that has been the vicious cycle. But this time it feels different.
**Now before I go any further I will qualify this by saying that I have only just selected my niche. I still have to build my site and launch my business etc.
but again this feels different. I have a ton of ideas and articles extraordinaire in my head. I am thinking long term and thinking about products tie ins etc.
why is it different? Well I finally found something close to my heart. I went with something that while a bit extensive and complex especially where the articles are concerned, it is not something that scares me because I am truly passionate about it. But I feel that the biggest difference is that I am willing to do a ton of research on my niche this time. That is where I always got stuck each and every time. I wasn't willing to do the necessary work that is needed to be really successful.
So what is the take away?
Well on a nutshell I will say this sit down and really look into your life. Go through not only your hobbies but go through your personal life. Do you have any afflictions that have affected you for years? What about your immediate family? Did you grow up playing sports or involved in band? Are you passionate about raising your kids? What do they really like? What about your significant other?
Those are some of the ways I found my passion. But in the end the fact that you are here at WA is what will make all the difference. Ask the community for help and if that doesn't work then go with the Affiliate Bootcamp.
Remember one thing, YOU CAN DO THIS. Don't give up, success is just around the corner you just have to go get it.
