It cannot replace a website...since you don't own it! Facebook can make changes, or prevent you from doing things on your page and you have no control. A website is a business that you own, and have full control over.

"Replace" ---- not really. Website can do WAY more than an FB fanpage. Fanpages are great, but you don't want to sell directly off one. FB will likely ban you. Use a fanpage to feed people to your website. They are very effective for that. I can provide an example, if you wish

A Facebook page is very different from and can't replace a website. It's used mainly for promoting your site and keeping your followers engaged.

your front page is the home page...it usually shows a list of all your recent posts.
