Watch me Struggle!

I have been sitting here the last 2 hours trying to come up with a compelling post for my website. I am on course 2 just starting lesson 8. I feel like it is developing much slower than it should be. I'm like a self fulfilling prophesy in that I always thought I would find it hard to write a blog. I think my niche may be too broad so I jump from topic to topic. It is also making it difficult to come up with keywords and keyword phrases that fit the Low Hanging Fruit criteria. In a broad sense it is personal growth or self improvement. I have had many years in dabbling in many philosophies from Buddhist Chanting to the EST Training, Practical Philosophy (yes there is such a thing) and others. But no clear vision of what my point is, just a broad overview of the many things that have interested me over the years and helped me continue to create my life. The emphasis I think I want to make is that it is not the eventual goal but enjoying the path to that goal.

I feel like I get to this point a lot and I'm afraid it will start to fade away as an interest/need only because I'm struggling. Success Post? Far from it ;-) I thought maybe taking a break and getting this off my chest may free me up a little. Not sure. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I know I can get over this hump I just need to clear my focus.

Ron, I thought struggle only happened to me. It's just part of the business and finding out your solutions. Writing blogs, yeah has me starching my head. Most of us have been there, great blog.

To continue writing is the best thing you can do!

Yes, just sitting does not help. I tried once, but I was not happy at myself. I just distracted myself with other tasks and some ideas came up latter. Do not give up, take your time. All the best to you, good luck!

In my experience (30+ years of writing in various formats and on various subjects) you are doing the right thing by stepping away for a moment and articulating what you think the problem is. I've done the same thing myself over the years and I have found that it helps to go back a read aloud what I just wrote. As for your broad niche issue, I am in the same boat, so at this point I am just free-writing. What ever pops into my head, even if it has nothing to do with my subject, I write it down. You would be amazed what you will find between the words when you go back and read what you just wrote. Usually I find one or two phrases that trigger a light bulb and create linkage to my subject. Under no circumstances should you give up! Just keep writing, it will come.

Thank you so much. All good suggestions and needed pep talk. When you say free writing do you mean you publish it on your blog or just in drafts. And by the way can you save multiple posts in progress without publishing them?

I was even thinking of just a daily blog of my own personal journey through life from a Being Great prespective. That's why your free-writing suggestion popped out at me. I love this community!

I like to write drafts and believe it or not, I still do it with a pad and pen (some habits never die). I just started on WA so I'm not sure about writing drafts on the blog but not posting them. I am still building my website and have not published it live yet, so I will let someone else with more experience respond to the technical question.

Thanks again. I decided my post was just finished and that I didn't have to write a whole diatribe. Would love it if you checked it out.
