Convincing myself - Premium membership
I'm talking myself into signing up for the Premium membership. I understand what is included and what I will be left with if I stay in the Starter membership. I have less than 5 hours to pull the trigger and order to get the promotional price. Wealthy Affiliate has done a good job selling me on this help. But I am a stingy shopper and I always have to talk myself into buying anything.
If I wait, I will have to pay more. If I change my mind, I can cancel at anytime.
I have found the community to be very knowledgeable and, more importantly, helpful! I would like to continue to be able to ask questions as I go, even though I feel I have a strong grasp on blog development, content writing, and online marketing. The areas I feel like I need help in are website structuring, plug-in support, and the deep technical stuff, like security and protection. So, it's nice to know I can get help on anything any time with the Premium membership.
I have been taking a long time to get through the first course because I'm doing a little bit for an hour then coming back two hours later for 45 minutes and so on like this. Taking care of my almost-9-month-old baby is my main job. This affiliate work is hopefully going to help me to stay home with him longer (hopefully, until he moves out, or doesn't [I wouldn't mind if he never moved out]), but for now, has to fit in during naps and after he goes to bed. I'm experienced at writing blogs, but I've never done it like this before, to make money. So I feel like some of the information I know and some I don't. My thought was to complete the first course and the first Affiliate Bootcamp course before purchasing the Premium membership, because completing those two may take over a month and they are included in the Starter membership. Now I'm trying to tell myself two things: 1>It'll be nice to have questions answered as they arrive, rather than waiting until I finish and sign up for the Premium package and 2>What if I do finish within a month and I would have saved $30 by signing up right now.
Boy oh boy, it takes me a lot to convince myself.
See, I'm spending money that my husband earned, that's my biggest reason to resist. But do you want to know what he said? He said, "I think you should do it. If it's going to help you do what you are doing right now, and that's what you want to do, then do it." I'm so lucky to have such a sweet, supportive, and encouraging husband. I really am lucky. When I've looked at things online and grow a desire-for-wanting said things, I know it's bad if I can't bring up the thing with my husband, like if I'm trying to figure out how to pay for it without him knowing. But with this, I was able to talk to him about it without too much hesitation, so I know in my heart it is a good thing.
Okay, so I have some questions... If, say, I start a Premium membership and things get out of hand and suddenly there's a month that we can't afford to pay the $49, and I cancel my membership will I: A>be able to continue using the starter membership, B>still be able to make the money that my sites are generating, and C>be able to resume my Premium-level membership right where I left off when I cancelled?
One last think that I've been kicking around: I've always wanted to study computer science and web & website development with the end game: making money. When I started college, in 1999, I wanted to study computer science, but I was intimidated by the current students. Looking back, of course, I should have gone with my gut and done it anyway. Can you image the money I'd be making now? I can't. But everything happens for a reason and it happens the way it's meant to; I truly believe these two things. So, in the past ten years since I graduated with my English degree (don't laugh), I have thought SO many times about going back to school to learn about web design and other related topics. Right now, I'm looking at this opportunity as a way to learn the basics of earning money using the Internet and it's only going to cost a fraction of what enrolling in classes would cost. Plus, I'll be learning some of the aspects of web layout for which I wanted to go to school. And if this proves financially beneficial, perhaps I will be able to go take some classes and know, more specifically, what I want to study.
So if you read this far, or if you skipped ahead to see how this ends, can you, please, tell me what you think the most valuable aspect(s) of the Wealthy Affiliate Premium membership is?
